Guitar players best kept secret!
I’ve been playing guitar for nearly 28 years. It’s always been a learning curve. I’ve always been a plug in and play kind of guy and a little ignorant when it comes to these things, but have been using certain pedals over the last couple of years. Cannot recommend this pedal enough. Works absolutely flawless with my Marshall DSL50 Head. With the level full, tone at about about 4.8 and drive on zero it helps a ridiculous amount in controlling the overall tone. The bass is tightened up and sounds less ‘flubby’, the overall sound is so much tighter and defined. If you play mid to high gain I couldn’t recommend this enough. I wish I had known about this pedal back in the day seeming as it’s been unchanged since around 1980/1981.

Great pedal , but when using as a boost keep the gain @ 25%

Classic overdrive
Let’s be realistic - as far as classic overdrive stomp boxes go, it’s either this or the Tube Screamer - this is cheaper, better made, and it’s a pleasantly cheerful shade of yellow. Boss distortion pedals never did it for me (too much too soon on the dials - much like their chorus fx) but this is awesome and has plenty of subtle shifts in the sound. It’s priced in a zone where the upper clones live, but it’s indestructible and looks typically well finished. It’s the pedal every parent should buy their electric guitar playing son/daughter.

Great boost pedal.
Out of the box I wasn't sure about this pedal, then I read online about players using this as a boost pedal. Turn the drive right down to zero and use it to boost the gain on your amp. I'm playing through a 10w Vox Pathfinder, and it makes the amps built in overdrive sound AMAZING. I was ready to sell mine, really glad I didn't.

Classic, and with good reason.
This pedal is a stunner. I am running it as a mid boost after my blues driver. It is amazing. Loads of headroom, a surprising amount of gain (getting into distortion), a fully useable sounding tone knob and that famous Boss build quality. The looks are classic. This pedal will outlast your playing and probably humanity. Keep strumming people. If you are on the fence, just get one. You won't regret it.

Great pedal. Smooth sustain.
Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Comes with a 9v battery so useable out of the box. Didn’t buy an adapter, just using batteries for now and works great.

It's a Boss SD1.... what else do you need to know?
These have been around for a long time now..... Buy this one instead of the Waza Craft version and save yourself a hefty chunk of change because I doubt anyone could tell the difference once you're on stage.... It's a Boss overdrive.... what else do I need to say? It cuts some lows and adds some mids and adds more dirt to your sound (pretty much like any overdrive would) The character of these is slightly different to a Tube Screamer style overdrive. Solid pedal for a very reasonable price.... you can never have too many overdrives..

Great pedal, good service by Amazon
Ordered from Amazon rather than one of the big music stores as it was cheaper and delivery was free. Arrived the next day (standard delivery) complete with battery inside. All good. Pedal works as expected, switching is silent both mechanically and electronically. I bought it to boost an Orange OR15 for playing metal and it does this very well (check out Pete Thorn video about boosting an amp on YT).

A Fantastic Mild Distortion Pedal
How can you not love Boss pedals? I’ve used them for over 30 Years with no troubles ever. They can be a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for! This pedal is simple and very easy to use. I own the original Blues pedal as well as the newer Japanese made Blues Driver. I also own a 1980s Ibanez TS 808 pedal. They are all very good. This stands out if you want a moderate tone on your blues solos that won’t overpower everything in the mix. And that’s when it set on full! It is a wonderful pedal at a great price and for blues players. You will easily recreate the Chicago Blues sound!

Un classico! Indistruttibile ed economico overdrive. Perfetto con amplificatori valvolari, a mio avviso da avere in pedaliera!
