My machine only performs stitches if I click the machine to P1.. then after one line of stitching and having foot on the pedal Ihave to press it again.... And then again, surely this isn't just a eco function. Does anyone else have this problem? How do I change it to stitch without this hindrance?

I have made men’s shirts using cotton canvas fabricsCowl neck sweaters without having to change the needle to a stretch needleI find that you must use the correct feet for this model though as I have many high shank feet and after trying them out, it just messed up the tension. I just couldn’t get it right, but this is my first ever purchase of an industrial sewing machine and everything is new to me.It is a fantastic purchase and I have no regrets
