how many washes do you think this product would be able to make? Assuming clothes were washed in a basic sink?

It is a better idea I think to exactly measure it but I have not been able to, you might get more out of it doing that way. I have still quiete a lot left after a week abroad and have used while at home, it is a good product.

is this travel wash can be used to wash underwear and socks?

Yes because I used it to wash mine. As long as an item of clothing is washable and not for dry cleaning only that Travel wash should be fine.

Safe for use with baby clothes?

I don't know. I used it on my grandson's clothes, he is 12 and has delicate skin without any problems.
