Worked great on my fabric convertible roof
I have a 21 year old convertible, over the years I have used various waterproofings, from expensive manufacturer recommended, to enthusiast recommended and eventually to Fabsil, which was a step up on anything I’ve used before. This year I tried Fabsil Gold and I have to say it is excellent, the water sits on the top, the droplets eventually join together and just roll off.I suggest you test it in a small area first though.*Side note, I applied with a brush and mistakenly got some on the faded black trim and it’s rejuvenated the black!

Wonderful finish
I read all the reviews on this as I was unsure whether to purchase instead of the aerosol. I was worried about brush marks, but it was so easy to apply and gave a good, even finish. I have reproofed two coats with no change to the colour at all- though do patch test first. Very pleased with this, definitely recommend it!

Won’t get any better
Best option for waterproofing anything in my opinion. I have used fabsil for years, I paint this onto all my equipment from a showerproof jacket to fishing bivvies. It’s brings them back to being fully waterproof and last a long time too.A large tin lasts a long time too, pouring it into a tub and using a paint brush to apply it seems to go forever

Not the best solution for polyester outside seat cushion covers
When some garden furniture cushions succumbed to mildew, the polyester covers were taken off and I tried various methods of removing the bad staining. White vinegar was useless and in the end I resorted to using a highly concentrated solution of partly dissolved washing powder (not liquid - that didn't work either), dunking the covers in this and leaving them to soak overnight. This did the trick brilliantly, but also removed all the water-proofing from the covers. There were 5 substantial seat cushion covers and 3 smaller back cushion covers to be treated. It required the whole 1 litre tin of Fabsil Gold to do the waterproofing. It was not a pleasant process brushing the product onto each surface of the cover, even though I'd created a couple of rigs in the garage to support the covers while they were being treated. The fumes were pretty strong as well, so not good for a job that took me several hours. It's also been 2 days since the treatment was applied and the covers are still giving off fumes - I've been hanging them on the washing line each day to try and de-fumigate them. HOWEVER, the actual waterproofing is fantastic, so no complaints and full marks for that.If I needed to do it again, I'd buy a 2.5 litre tin of the Fabsil Plus (about the same price as 1 litre of the Gold), put it in a large bowl and just dunk each cover in turn into this less concentrated solution so they're fully wet all over. I'd then suspend each wet cover above the bowl to let it drain before hanging out to dry. To my mind, this would be so much easier.Follow-up comment. Within 5 days of applying the waterproofing liquid and having allowed the covers to air, there's no longer any fumes being given off and no residual smell. An excellent final outcome.

Exceeded all expectations. My car is very happy!
This stuff has saved my old tired Saab’s roof. Unfortunately I don’t have a before photo but it looks almost brand new now. Before using this any heavy rain would leave the roof and the liner completely soaked through and water would be literally dripping in at all the door rubber seams, but after one coat of this, the water is sitting on top even after a while of being there. It doesn't seem to even be soaking in over time which was a surprise to me.I jet washed and dried the roof and then applied this just using a paintbrush and making sure I really scrubbed it into the fabric weave and properly soaked any seams and creases where water could collect. It took about an hour/hour and a half and was completely dry after about 4 to 5 hrs (on a sunny warm day). It also improved the colour and made it darker and more consistent.I didn’t have massive expectations for this product because of how bad my car’s leaking was and however long it lasts remains to be seen but so far it’s been totally worth the effort. Some small cons:1) The smell. It’s VERY strong, i was applying outside with a breeze and still had to take breaks away from the car while painting and had a headache/watery eyes afterwards. And the smell inside the car once it was dry was very strong too but soon faded with windows left open/air con.2) The liquidyness. This is good for absorbing into the fabric and obviously works but it does make spreading it around hard work (scrubbing to lather it up work it across the fabric worked best for me) and I went through much more than I imagined I would. I only had a small amount left in the can at the end so it was enough for one full coat but only just!
