Reasonable price and very soft and WARM.

I bought a goose and down quilt 20 yrs ago and it was my first goose & down. I've been wanting to replace it for some years but I loved it so much. However, it did lose lots and I mean lots of feathers, right from the very start and every other night I was stabbed by one. I'm surprised it had any in it. I've bought from this company a few times so I thought I'd check out there duvets. I decided on this one and I'm not disappointed! I aired it out in our autumn sun before using. Fits perfectly in my king size bedding, corner to corner. I couldn't get it totally fluffed up as king-size is too big for me to shake but It's fluffing up more each time I've slept. This is a lovely duvet and real value for money. Perfectly put together and all seams are secure. It's got a nice weight to it, not heavy but just nice. Once again I feel like I'm sleeping in luxury, I do have a much better sleep. The cover is nice quality too and after sleeping using the duvet for 2 weeks, I've not been stabbed by a feather or lost any feathers yet, unlike the one it's replaced. I'm pretty sure I will lose some, it's only to be expected. I'm looking forward to snuggling and having a luxurious sleep in this duvet for many nights to come. I'll never go back to any other kind of duvet. Goose and down all the way. The way it snuggles around you can't compare.

Felt cold using this and the feathers stick through the fabric and irritates. Horrid thing. If I had discovered it sooner I would have sent it back.

Poor packaging, squashed into a bag then the bag folded in half and squashed into a box. Feather duvets need room to breath. Despite previous reviews there is no stale smell, left to air for a few hours before use to try and plum up and it was very flat due to packaging. It is now starting to pump out. Very warm and feels heavy when sleeping (what I like) but lightweight for carrying. Definitely worth the price, much better than expected. Packaging however is the only thing that needs reviewed.

Having had a pure down duvet when they first came into the country in the 1960's, there really is no comparison but the price of the same nowadays is just out of our reach. I really feel that this Viceroy quilt is very good value for money, especially being a higher down content than most others I have seen. This one is most certainly NOT "smelly", the cover is very good quality and doesn't seem as though it will allow the feathers to work their way through. The pockets are well filled and equal and is very warm and cosy. I agree with others that it seems a little "noisy". This may get better over time as it is used more - doesn't keep us awake!! I would not hesitate in recommending this quilt and distributor. It arrived quickly with no problems. After unpacking, I would advise to give it a good initial shake and leave it overnight preferably somewhere warm. Give it a few shakes when passing. It will have plumped up nicely by the time you come to put it on your bed and get to room temperature. Maybe the distributor would think about putting a little advisory note in with the item when sending - ours was very cold when it arrived and most certainly benefited from this treatment. Having used this quilt for a couple of weeks, it seems to be less "noisy"- so that's a positive!!

It is a really nice quilt, but, when I first removed the plastic packaging omg the chemical smell from the plastic was horrific, was so strong, i had this over a banister for 24 hrs, sleep that night was awful, the smell gave me a headache, my whole place smelt, I had my skylights open during day after I fabrezzed the whole thing. That evening I took a chance and placed in washing machine, it just fitted and I just popped it on a half hour rinse with a small Amount of detergent with 2 long spins as it was heavy in machine, I then tumbled dry it for three hours, still slightly damp it’s been over my mezzanine bannister for the last 3 days and now can say there is no smell, it’s now on my bed. I won’t go for another duvet online again as this whole process has been a pain in the arse!

Lovely and light, but warm. It did have a strange smell for a few days, but fine now.

I could not believe how polarised reviews for these quilts were. Almost like people were reviewing totally different products. I am blown away by this quilt. It arrived vacuum packed. I threw it into the bed, and over the next couple of days threw out around. It plumped up beautifully. There is zero smell; the outer material is substantial and there isn't a feather in sight; it is silent in operation. It looks and feels a quality product. It settles around you really well, and is so warm and comfortable. Excellent value for money. I can't recommend it enough.
