Great book, with text-to-speech etc. in the Kindle book
Very well presented book. All the verb tenses clearly laid out, lots of verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs with examples. Word lists nicely separated into sections, e.g. air travel, which are then sub-divided into "essential", "important" and "useful", helping you to select which words to learn. Lots of examples of expressions such as "desde hace xxx". This is a very professional book, and I can thoroughly recommend this book. A benefit of the Kindle version is that you can get the Spanish words spoken using text-to-speech, though this is only of the translation = this means that you have to highlight the English version and hope that the Spanish translation is what you wanted to hear, but it's pretty good. It would be even better if it had options for speaking either the Spanish or the English pronunciation of any selected text, but you can't have everything ...

Easy learning is exactly right
I wanted to learn a bit of Spanish to improve my friendship with a Spanish housemate, so I bought this book to help me along, and I'm glad I did. Having not studied English for the best part of 20 years, I've forgotten most of the technical side of languages, even though I write for a hobby, but I see that more as art - I just know where the words go. This of course means that words such as 'infinitive', though familiar somewhere in my memory, don't have meaning, which makes learning a new language very difficult.Fortunately, this book appreciates this reality of life and tells you everything you need to know, not just about Spanish, but about the universal fundamentals of language. And it does so in a very clear, perfectly laid out fashion, with each section being presented in a short, easy to understand manner. There are no masses of text, nor unnecessary complexities, yet at the same time it teaches everything from the raw basics to the more complicated intricacies of how to understand how Spanish works. Each section of the first third of the book covers the use of certain forms of words, and contains a useful 'how to use this section' page followed by a basic introduction. Then there are tips, bullet points and example sentences throughout to guide you along, and a summary of the most important parts at the end. There's then a very useful middle section which contains page after page of verb tables, with the most commonly used verbs displayed in their various forms, with examples to boot. The final part of the book is an A-Z of useful topics, eg food & drink, holidays, town etc, with each page containing a list of associated words, and then a couple of useful phrases. It really is an incredible book for anyone wanting to learn Spanish.

Great as a reference, but not as a textbook for learning
Really solid reference book for people who already know some vocabulary and the basics of grammar. But it's not an organised course for learning Spanish, beginners will be completely lost if they read it page-by-page. If you've done some duolingo or other similar courses for a bit, the book will be good for learning more about the grammar of the sentences you've encountered. But if not, there are textbooks with exercises which are more structured for learning out there.

Excellent for learners
I am taking Spanish lessons and I needed a book that explained Spanish grammar in English - most of us haven't done English grammar since we were 10 and it's not something you think about as a native speaker. I'm now a adult learning Spanish after work, so I literally needed to be told what a "gerund" or what a "past participle" was in order to work out what the equivalent is in Spanish. Anyway - this book hits the mark. It explains tenses perfectly and complements what I learn during class. It is set out in a logical order and just the right level of depth. The examples really help and the verb tables are great.Apart from grammar, the other super useful thing are the vocabulary tables at the back. Looking up vocab on various apps is also great, but it's nice to have a list of categorized vocab like "careers" or whatever. This book is the best thing I purchased in my Spanish learning journey. It's small and easy to read, covers exactly what you need if you've been doing lessons for around 3 months onwards. It's become the thing I refer to most (more than my actual Spanish class textbook) and I'd be lost without it.

Excellent reference book
This book has 3 sections, Grammar, Verbs and Vocabulary:The grammar section is very easy to understand. The verb section has 120 regular and irregular verbs. The vocabulary section is organised by subject matter so not as easy to use as a dictionary.I use Google Translate rather than this section of the book.
