Great for Reducing Phosphates and Algae
I used the Fluval Clear Max in my 34L tank after noticing high phosphate levels and algae growth. It’s easy to place in the filter, and I saw results quickly – the phosphate levels dropped, and the water looks clearer. This pack of three is a convenient way to keep my tank balanced. Highly recommended

Okay but instructions need to be more clear
Using in my Fluval 206 marine setup along side Carbon and I've seen an improvement in water quality within 6 hours. My only gripe with this (which may well just be down to my own lack of knowledge) was I interpreted the instructions as suggesting you should place the Clearmax directly into the media basket (removing all bags etc...) which I know understand is wrong, the Clearmax should be placed in the media basket inside the bag it comes in (removing only the plastic bag). Luckily I realised this didn't seem right before turning my filter on (I suspect the loose debris may have damaged the propeller head).... instructions really should be more clear as the wording ("place directly into media basket") could be misinterpreted and cause damage to filters... also means I've wasted a bag of this stuff as well.

Working great at removing Black Beard Algae
Working really well. They are large bags so had to cable tie them around my small filter instead of them being inside. But this still sucks the water through them and filters nicely. One had been in for nearly two weeks and has reduced the Black Beard algae massively. Still a way to go yet but very impressed so far.

Seems to work....
I use different products in a canister filter so hard to tell, but I do think the addition of this stuff has reduced the dark 'algae' ... I know it's not algae but can't think of the scientific name for it.. but it has ceased to grow on the stones, and plants are making a comeback, certainly the green algae is not happening. I reduced the tank light to eight hours a day. I think it's worth trying.
