Fluval Clear Max Phosphate Remover 300g - 3 x 100g - treats 3 x 100L,Brown

Amazing, cleared up my little pond within a week. I put large logs in the water which dyed the water dark brown. Even though it is just a DIY pond with no moving water, the active charcoal worked really well. Just submerged a bag of it into the pond and waited. Now I can see the bottom of the pond again. I used half of the quantity in the tub, which was probably a bit too much for my pond (around 140 litres I'd say). I'd definitely recommend this product. I even forgot to wash it before submerging and it didn't make a difference.

First time ordering this product, good from the start. Packaged well and seeing an improvement in my tank water quality after just a few days, proving to be an effective product. It’s a good sized amount in the tub and easy to set up with the mesh bag provided.

This carbon is high quality and keeps your aquarium clear and clean smelling. I use it in a freshwater aquarium and it’s down to personal choice really. It won’t solve problems such as algae growth but definitely gives the water a nice polish.As every other review says; it only comes with one bag but if you're using the fluval 30X or 40X filters you can just put the bag over the partition and spread it over both if you plan on using a lot. Keep in mind that you do not need as much as you think; I put in almost a half and it barely fit into the baskets of my 306 filter and I had already rinsed it thoroughly so couldn't take any out.It comes with about 5 small zip ties to close the bag but if you expect to be using less than a fifth of it each time you can easily tie the large bag it comes with in a knot.It works out much cheaper than the individual bags so I cannot complain!!If you want a media bag with a zip and a mesh that’s fine enough to keep this stuff in I recommend Seachem’s small zip bag - it’ll take some of the faff out of replacing the carbon.

Great product, the 900g option comes with a single mesh bag and clip. The bag is big enough to hold the entire contents of the 900g bottle should you so wish. I have no doubt the clip does its job but the bag is long enough to accommodate a knot and leave plenty of room for water to circulateFor ponds, I just pour half the carbon into the bag and seal it. Run a hose over the bag for a few seconds until the black dust stops coming out. Scoop a bucket of pond water and plunge the bag in and out a few times to remove the chlorinated water. Drop it in your pond close to wherever the dirty water circulates, not where the clean water come in. Just leave it there or occasionally *gently* move the carbon around a little to get it all exposed to the water. The particles that make the water dirty seem attracted to the carbon and stick to it in huge quantities. When the effect slows down, chuck the carbon and use the other half to keep the water clear. This is a good quality activated carbon, you don't end up with black water

First of all if you have an algae bloom deal with it first, I personally use Algumin, follow the instructions and in a few weeks it’s all pretty much dead. But in order to control the growth of algae I now use Clearmax, once any bloom has been dealt with :D Ok so this helps to get rid of algae’s food source ‘phosphates, nitrate and nitrites’ by trapping it in this clearmax resin. It does this very well indeed.The box has 3 felt bags containing 100g each of the clearmax resin, your supposed to use 1 bag at a time and replace after 30 days, each bag is suitable to treat a tank up to 100 litres. But my tanks only 20 litres!? So seen as I haven’t got money to burn I go to poundworld and buy a pack of stockings, cut open one of these clearmax felt bags and pour a 1/3 in then tie off the stocking and cut it and so on, so I am left with eventually 3 x 33g (stocking) bags of clearmax out of just 1 of the felt bags. So now 1 box gives me 9 months of use.I’ve been using it for 4 months now and I have next to no algae growth at all! Well worth the money especially if you do the mod like me for a smaller tank :D

Wow!! This stuff is amazing!! I’ve used carbon and was impressed on how clear my water was. My issue tho, is my town has high phosphate water. Carbon just couldn’t keep up. Bought phosphate pads. Helped a little. But not great. Purigen wasn’t helping at all. Then I tried this! Love it! I use it in my 10 gallon tanks by cutting a hole and using about a half in a coffee filter bag. Made a fantastic difference and my bettas are very happy!! Plan on using it in my 20 gallons!

How fantastic this product is! Huge improvement to the water quality. Does not harm plants. Fish are exxtremely happy, energetic again.
