The Fantastic Four 1961-1963

Obviously as you’ve probably already read the overwhelmingly beautiful thing about this book is it’s attempt to replicate the original comic book experience in a large format. Very well produced, this will bring back the old comic book memories you may have had as a child.

A recent review from 'Jay' indicates that this book lists inaccurate dimensions and is much smaller than the Spider-Man and Avengers volumes from Taschen. It appears that picture Jay provides is actually of the smaller Marvel Omnibus edition, compared to the Taschen Avengers book. I have all three Taschen books and their dimensions are identical. They are incredibly beautiful books. Jay, I think you were sent the wrong book.

A most stunning book. Remarkable presentation in a deluxe box featuring Kitby art. The cover and interior pages are of high quality and the classic coloring has been maintained, giving the book a stark, vintage appeal. For any fan of Marvel or the Fantastic Four or great comics, I highly recommend this.

I enjoy this beautiful and enormous book. It’s wonderful to see these reprints scanned from pristine original issues. The problem I have is Taschen’s bait and switch routine. The previous Spider-Man and Avengers books were limited edition. This book is not limited edition, but still costs $200. Supposedly Taschen offers a limited edition version, but there’s no sight of it on Amazon, and none of the third party sellers can tell you if theirs is a numbered copy or not. Now that I know this is how Taschen will be releasing these books, I won’t buy them when they’re first released. I’ll be waiting a year until they’re stuck with overstock and buy one for $100 when they have their 50% sale. My disappointment comes strictly from Taschen’s decision to flood the market with these unnumbered copies for the high price tag. I recommend everyone hold off until the price plummets.

Overpriced sub par book. Don’t expect it to arrive in mint condition either. Buy a Marvel Masterwork or Marvel Omnibus and save some $$$.

The dimensions are miss represented as you can see in the picture. The Fantastic Four book should be the same size as the Avengers book.

As with the two previous titles in this series, this book is nothing short of superb. There will never be better, more authentic reprints of these early Marvel classics.As to the "limited edition" issue raised by the previous reviewer, does it really matter that much? Certainly not to me, just to own this lovely book is more than enough. It's possible the confusion arises due to the publisher also issuing a far more expensive limited slip cased version.Update on my earlier comments - in answer to the review by "Jay", can anybody be that dumb not to understand they've been sent the totally different Omnibus edition in error ? It would appear they can be.
