Brilliant oral hygiene for the tech minded.
I switched from an ultrasonic brush to this and I'm impressed. The unit itself looks different from your usual white toothbrushes. It looks more of a tech item than a personal hygiene product and in a way it is. There's an app you can install on your phone which will guide you through brushing, keep a track of everytime you've brushed and give you some insights into how you have brushed. Sometimes the Bluetooth connection won't connect and you have to reconnect it to your phone to upload your brushing data but overall the connection is good enough for what it needs to do. The included brush timer again looks modern with its silver finish, although the white back looks a little odd, it would look better if the battery cover were silver too. The timer let's you see in real time how long you've been brushing for and what program you have selected. At the end the timer gives you a star score of how well you've brushed, if you've used excessive pressure whilst brushing your score will go down, as it will if you've not brushed for long enough. The battery life is 'okay'. My ultrasonic brush definitely had better battery life but maybe that's just a quirk of ultrasonic brushed as a whole. Overall I'd say a week, maybe 2 should be achievable on the battery front. Make sure you charge it until the battery guage stops flashing and goes out. It takes a while to charge from completely flat, but isn't to bad when just topping up. You get 4 heads in the box, one each of each type, enough to last you a while and give you a good idea of which style you prefer. It would be nice if the heads bundled with the unit were the matching black ones but nevermind, they function the same and you can buy the black ones on Amazon. Oh and to change the brushing mode, just start the brush and press the small button under the main one whilst its operating. The mode you're in will show in the wireless timer display. Like all other oral-b brushes it does a fabulous job of keeping your teeth and gums healthy, but with a techie twist. It feels like it'll last too. My previous oral-b brush went on for years, I've no reason to believe this will be any different. Overall, yes it's pricey but compared to some of the ultrasonic brushes out there it's a bargain. And the fact you get 4 brush heads, a remote timer which also doubles as a clock when not in use and Bluetooth connectivity, I'd say it's good value.

My teeth feel smoother and my mouth feels much fresher
I decided to order this Oral-B smart series toothbrush because my basic toothbrush was old and the battery was dissipating much faster. I was browsing through Amazon store and came across this daily deal for this smart series toothbrush at a reduction of 78%. I decided to purchase this as it was a offer I could not refuse. when I was unpacking this product there was many pieces in the box, but it was packed securely and well protected. 99% of the items in the box was easy to identify, but there was one particular item that had me puzzled for a short while. I knew it was some sort of stand but couldn’t figure out where it belonged and after a while I realised that it had to be attached to the back of the clock. This particular piece slides into the back of the holder of the clock and then you attach the adhesive pad , So you can stick the clock to a surface of your choice. I have attached two pictures showing you the particular piece I am talking about. The clock has to be in a visible position because it notifies you with a :-) face if you are brushing your teeth correctly and not applying too much pressure and of the modes you have selected plus the time and countdown. Setting the clock time took a bit of perseverance, and the buttons are on the rear where the batteries are before you clip the back on. If you choose to download the Oral-B app this gives you the alternative options to change some settings, and give you notification reminders of when the toothbrush heads have to be changed. Charging this toothbrush took 24 hours, it does have a LED indicator of battery charge. The actual toothbrush has a nice weight and is equally balanced and feels comfortable and well manufactured. The charge point clips into the case where the toothbrush heads are placed. Using this tooth brush my teeth do feel smoother and cleaner and my mouth does feel a lot fresher, so I am well happy with this purchase. There is a couple of negative points in my particular situation, because I am registered blind. But they are very minor as I said I am well satisfied with this purchase the first - point being I would have liked The clock giving some sort of audio notification when to change modes or speak the countdown timer, but the toothbrush does give you an indication of a vibration when to change. The second minor point would be that the toothbrush heads would clip into the case, instead of lying freely. The other positive point I particularly like this as well because the toothbrush Holder comes with a handy travel case when not in use.

Wow, Would give it 6 stars if I could...
I have an older Oral B toothbrush but my wife said" treat yourself you need a new brush" I hesitated lng and hard about spending so much on a toothbrush....you can buy an awful lot of ordinary brushes for the £70 or so...well finally took the plunge and said goodbye to my hard earned cash...The parcel arrived a couple of days later and when I opened the box there where several strange items ..a timer or clock of some sort ,a plastic case etc..I put these to one side and picked up the toothbrush itself, it immediately feels quality and a great weight and fits nicely in the hand, time to plug it in... After an awful long wait of some 24 hours or so ..yes....but worth it..I got to switch this on for real, loads of flashing lights and Bluetooth, what's that for.... it seems far quicker than my previous electric brush and as soon as I switched it on the little timer thingy sprang to life and indicated where I should be brushing and continued to time each section or segment of the mouth I should be paying attention to with this new "toy"...the brush is in a different league to my old one ..I expected an improvement as my old brush is a couple of years old but this new brush is just the business...it's got several different modes including deep clean and tongue clean, all of which I have now tried and really rate..I kid you not that this fantastic brush has actually made a difference to my teeth in just a few days..it's unbelievable...my dentist actually commented...don't get much better than that..anyway, to sum up, this is the best £70 I have spent in a long time, my brush is my new best friend as it's absolutely brilliant, I now look forward to my cleaning, and can really feel and see ..this thing is making a real difference...I must also mention the Oral B app which downloaded in seconds and whilst seems to be aimed at the younger end with some snazzy graphics etc it also tracks my progress as it communicates with the brush and stores my times and gives me routines to do...how things have progressed,it's amazing and not just gimmicky none sense..Anyway I am really hugely impressed with this,it's not cheap but wow do you get some serious help keeping your teeth and mouth clean, well worth it,and I am buying the wife one for xmas...Go on treat yourself..

Decent for the price but battery and charge time lets it down
I’ve had this for just over a year now and it’s a decent toothbrush all round. I bought it to replace my old electric toothbrush which wasn’t really holding a charge anymore. I bought this because it received positive reviews, it is a ‘smart’ toothbrush, bluetooth enabled and comes with an app. However to be totally honest I have hardly ever used those smart features. Whilst others might find it very useful to use the app I personally have found it to be a bit gimmicky, it just didn’t feel natural having to use my phone every time I’m brushing my teeth. That said it is a bonus to have the option of the app and smart features. There are smart features I use or get the benefit of that don’t rely on me using the app. The toothbrush has a smart feature that detects if you’re pressing too hard a red light indicator appears on the toothbrush. I also use the 2 min timer which is quite handy because it helps conserves the battery. The battery is just about decent and could be a lot better currently it last just over a week, mind you, this is with a 2 min brushing run time. A fair bit of warning, this thing takes an absolute age to charge, it takes almost a day to charge which to many will be absolutely ridiculous. The toothbrush itself is fairly ergonomic, has a good design, it’s quite sturdy, durable and powerful. It cleans quite well and doesn't feel uncomfortable when your using it to brush your teeth, gums or tongue. Even with all its smart feature it is very easy to use, it has a few useful modes and settings that adjusts the power and speed to suit how you want to clean your teeth/gums. The price has gone down in sale since I purchased it to just under £50. At this price it is tempting but you may be able to find other options that are more superior with better features if you shop around. Hope this helps.

That dentist clean feeling
After using this tooth brush for 6 months now I think it’s time I reviewed it. I wanted to purchase a tooth brush that would make my teeth feel as clean as when I visit the dentist but I couldn’t justify paying a ridiculous amount of money. After lots of research I came across this Oral B smart series 6500 and decided this was the one for me. When the tooth brush arrived I was impressed with the packaging, everything was secure and in its place, the box contains the tooth brush handle, tooth brush heads, timer, stand, case and charge cable. I charged the tooth brush for 24 hours as the booklet said and by the next morning I was ready to go! It is simple to use, you turn it on by one button and then (if you wish) to change the setting you press the smaller button, as you press these buttons the hud on the timer tells you what you are choosing, when you have chosen the coins down begins. The timer also shows you which quadrant of your mouth the brush, and the tooth brush also notifies you by vibrating, it also notifies you when you are pressing too hard, the tooth brush changes from green to red and the little happy face on the timer turns to a sad face. When you are finished the tooth brush will let you know as will the timer, there is also an app you can download on your phone which does exactly the same thing as the timer, it connects to your tooth brush via blue tooth. My only issue with this tooth brush is that it does not hold much charge, to some people it may be enough charge depending on what setting you use but for me I can only get a few days out of it before I have to charge it again. Other than that little issue I fully recommend this tooth brush and I am very happy with my purchase and so are my teeth!

It's Like Visiting the Dentist After Every Use
Wow, it's like visiting the dentist after every use. Perfect quality and great to use. I highly recommend it, make sure to take advantage of Amazon's free £5 promo code when purchasing £30 Amazon Gift Cards (ends 18 June 2017), that will shave £5.00 off your purchase. Update 15/07/2017: - In addition to its cleaning power, the Oral-B 6500 toothbrush managed to deliver up to 9 days of usage (2 brushes per day 2 – 3 mins each), which is really good. - After using the toothbrush for over a month, I found myself using only one mode, despite having 6 modes. I think because there is no screen to display which mode you are using, I intend to stick with the first one (Daily Clean mode), which is good to be used on a daily basis anyway. - I find both; the small SmartGuide and the Oral-B App are pretty useless. Particularly when you only want to brush your teeth rather than staring into your phone screen. Also you don’t want your phone to end up down the sewer. Furthermore, not using SmartGuide and the Oral-B App may also increase the battery life of your toothbrush (see tips below). Tips: Here’re a few tips you may find useful: 1- You can keep your toothbrush clean from any toothpaste residue at all times by simply, removing/washing/drying the brush head and the toothbrush’s top metal head, reassemble and place toothbrush horizontally (see pic), rather than vertically (up right). This way your toothbrush will stay clean from any toothpaste residue, and always looks like new! 2- By using the SmartGuide and the Oral-B mobile app, your toothbrush also uses an extra energy to connect to these devices. If you are like me and don’t use these gimmicky accessories, you would be better turning off the Bluetooth on your toothbrush to save some power. You can easily turn the Bluetooth off on your Oral-B Smart Series 6000 / 6500 by following the simple steps below: A- Please press the on/off button and the mode button simultaneously for 3 seconds to disable the interfaces completely (make sure it is 3 seconds). B- You can reactive the Bluetooth anytime, by following the same steps and you will know it is back on when the icon is lit up. I still give the Oral-B Smart Series 6500 ‘5 Stars’ for its cleaning power and design. I highly recommend it, if you can get it for £50 - £70. Update 19/08/2017 - Battery life update with Bluetooth On/OFF: Bluetooth ON: 9 Days of usage (2 brushes per day 2 – 3 mins each) Bluetooth OFF: 15 Days of usage (2 brushes per day 2 – 3 mins each)

Excellent and Helpful
This is not my first time to use electric toothbrush, so I’ll review this as a pure electric toothbrush, and then review the smart features. As Electric Toothbrush It has excellent build and design; it has a robust grip and nicely looking Bluetooth and battery indicators. It’s rotation speed is fast, and it has a very good performance compared to other brushes. What I don’t like much about it is the charging speed. It looks like it uses some wireless technologies to make it charge even if it’s wet, but it’s tad slow; I personally leave it overnight Smart Features I really like the six modes of the brush, and the fact that it syncs with your phone to have a full history of your brushing performance. The built-in app routines are very very helpful. I have been following routines like Plaque Fighter which sets the brush modes automatically and tracks your progress. Also, the app has incentives like medals to keep you going. Lastly, the app can track when you should replace your brush head. What I don’t like about the smart features is the external display gadget. I believe it’s a gimmick considering that I like being a minimalist and I carry my phone with me anyways. But, I understand other folks might find it useful if they don’t want to use the phone application. About a month and a half of usage. It’s a great toothbrush and totally worth it; it changes your brushing habits.

The MacBook Pro of the electric toothbrush world
This brush is pretty hardcore, I'm not going to lie. I mean bluetooth. BLUETOOTH on an instrument you use to brush your teeth. Who would've thought? In itself, it's got the standard Braun quality (well built, functional) that you'd expect. The modes it has are nice too - 'deep clean' for when you've got a minute extra at the weekend to spend on those good old teeth you take for granted as you innocently munch your toast (or breakfast bar) in the morning. Tongue cleaning slows the brush down a bit so its a bit more pleasant. Gum massages are a bit of a grey area (not actually grey, otherwise you have a problem) - I personally don't like the sensation but each to their own. The included heads are plentiful - allowing you to try each style before spending some of your hard earned pounds on some heads. Personally, the floss action ones and the 3D clean ones are my favourites. Moving on to the Bluetooth aspect. Erm. Gizmo. Simple as that - although the PDF reports you get on your phone are nice to show your dentist in a 'Look at me, I take oral health SO SERIOUSLY I have a PDF to prove it'. Nice way to show off, but, erm. The little timer thing (with a rather scary smile and melodramatic frown) is a nice touch. I can now assess how late I am in getting to university before I even put toothpaste on the brush and regret those extra ten minutes in bed. Excellent. Good quality brush. Perfect if you know someone whose idea of progress is having a toaster with in-built WiFi (or, if like, you like the idea of some 802.11ac toasted Kingsmill). iPhone as an alarm clock, some wireless toast and bluetooth toothbrush. Don't forget Citymapper!
