Easy to use and really effective
What a great, easy to use tool. I bought it to trim iron on melamine edging for some small additional shelves bought for various bathroom units. You hold the tool at 45 degrees to the excess material you are trimming and push away from you whilst ensuring you push down so the tool is flush to the surface you are trimming to and that is it!

It works better than a Stanley knife or a chisel and is good value for money.
This was to be the first time I had used iron on edging. I wanted to do a good job and this tool seemed good value for money so I bought one. It took me a minute or so to work out how to use it. There are no instructions but the diagram on the packaging was sufficient to show how it should be used. It is better than just using a chisel as it pushes down the edging as it cuts away the surplus stopping the edging lifting as the blade cuts. A chisel or Stanley knife blade won't do this. The blade on this tool is just chamfered on one edge so it cuts exactly in line with the panel surface. A Stanley blade being chamfered on both sides will leave a very thin overhang which is just enough to catch and be damaged. The tool left a slightly rough edge easily fixed with sand paper. The manufacturers missed an opportunity by not explaining this on the packaging. As you cut the edging you need to press the edging onto the worktop firmly to stop the edging coming off. I found a better solution is to use a Stanley blade in a scraper held up a bit at an angle so the chamfer on the blade does not leave the edge a bit high.

Truly brilliant.
I have always made do with a Stanley knife blade, but was making 16 large mdf doors and was persuaded by other reviews. I was using a paintable edging strip, which is quite thin, and this blade coped perfectly well with it. I set the edge of the strip level with the front of the door and trimmed the excess off the back edge - to be honest, the trimmed edge gave a better finish. I would suggest centring the edging strip on the edge of the wood and trimming both sides to get a perfect finish front and back. Pushing the blade ( rather than pulling it towards you) feels wrong at first, but it is easy to keep the tool completely flat to the face of the piece whilst maintaining just the right amount of pressure.

Not the best
As a kitchen fitter an always finds Simple little tools to make the job easier I came across this for the price was cheap not very helpful not very sharp very awkward to hold up against the edge of the worktop 3/4 cuts of the laminate the blade was very dull so I’ll stick with my file.

Rubbish
This is one of those tools you get believing it to be a good buy for the purpose it's made for. However I found it didn't cut as it's supposed to do. Blade seems to thick and not sharp enough for the task no instructions so had to use common sense. Just created a rough unsightly edge. I am not buying wolfcraft again as I have been let down by other products for the same reasons as explained here.

A good addition to my tool kit.
Does what it is intended to do at a very reasonable price. It was much easier to use than I had anticipated and cleans up the edge much better than a craft knife. It has an angled fitting at the back which allows you to run the cutter easily along the edge of your panel. A good addition to my tool kit.

Bad Quaility Tool However !
I normally read the reviews but with a tool 4.1/2 stars I neglegted to this time, so i missed the reviews regarding the blade being too high. Its obviously a design flaw they need to address in their moulding machine. Anyway being an engineer I removed the blade and laid some 240 grade wet and dry sandpapper on the edge of a workbench and sanded the surface smooth, till the blade was level with the surface you run along the to trim the edging laminate, i then used a 400 grade wet n dry to smooth off the sanding marks, once i'd done that it worked great, i will also like some have said hone the blade, which i havent done yet.. Wolfe need to review there mass production of this item and ensure better quaility control. If your prepared to do a little modification to the tool its a simple tool that can work good, but not straight out of the box

Great Tool
whilst the majority of the reviews were negative, i took a chance and bought this tool. had some problems to start with, but soon figured it out, trim about a 1" at the start end and that allows the tool to be placed in the correct position, then keeping pressure down and towards the side and push along edge and it trimmed the excess off very neatly to leave a superb finish. much easier and quicker than doing with a sharp knife, would recommend this tool.
