## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these strips flexible to mount on top of an arched shaped gate? Thanks.**
A: They are quite flexible, however I have put them on my fences around the whole garden but it does not stop the neighbourhood cats and foxes from entering my garden and causing destruction. As well as this I also have sonic deterrents but still they come in the garden and dig up the plants and mess everywhere. I just don't know what else to do 😔 any suggestions anyone?

**Q: I would like to put these along the top of my fences but they are not completely flat. Would the strips bend width ways as well as length ways?**
A: They come with groves down the middle so I had no trouble fitting them to my feather edged fence top, the only problem was they seem to lift along the length even using all the fixing holes, I ended up drilling more holes where it lifted.

**Q: Are these rspca approved?**
A: The law as at August 2021 is Anti-climb spikes and other anti-climb precautions can be used legally in the UK as long as appropriate warning signage is presented and the anti-climb barrier will not cause a nuisance.

These spikes come with a warning sign and as long as that is used it's legal.

**Q: Can these be removable? Like on a.window sill to deter cats from coming in during winter but removed in summer to stop kids from hurting themselves.**
A: Hi ... yes if you drill them in place . Obviousely it will leave holes in yr wood. I used no nails so i carnt remove them on my wall. Still saw cats climbing over them grrr

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall, very good
*by T***N on 30 May 2017*

These spikes are much tougher and sharper than they look, so in that respect they are excellent. They are also easy to install - just find a few screws and screw them in. But if you are installing these on a hot sunny day, I have a tip for you. Make sure you leave them out in the sun for half an hour or so, BEFORE you install them, to allow them to expand first. If you don't, they will warp somewhat in the sunshine. I have attached two photos for you to see 1) Installed without warming up first 2) Installed AFTER allowing for expansion. They also work best on fences that have a flat top surface. Fences that are shaped into a peak (a triangular point) are more difficult, as the middle screws cannot easily find a middle point. Overall though, I like the look of them - they are well packaged and well made. They also came with a small warning laminate, which I'm told you are advised to put up - if you don't, then a burglar has the right to take you to court if they injure themselves, because they were not 'warned' about the spikes. Ridiculous, and indeed a thick blanket would probably be enough for a burglar to make these somewhat redundant, but they would have to come prepared, and may still slow them up a bit, and any deterrent is good in my book, so overall, a decent addition to your security measures when it come to deterring the more opportunist house-breaker. Probably worth mentioning to your neighbour though before you install them - if your neighbour got injured somehow, they could also sue you. And if your fence faces a public highway, that could also be a legal mind-field. That all said, I like them!
