Review: Good quality product - Althow these are not from a bigger brand ... SoundMAGIC seems to build quality IEMs. Received my pair a week back and i am stunt of the sound quality ... as everybody here i read all the reviews i could find and was eager to test them out. I have tested all types of music from Classical to Rock. The outcome is pretty amazing. The lows are deep but are reproduced with clarity, the mids and highs are so crisp and clear you can hear all the details in the song just as the song was ment to sound (never had this feel also never owned higher class IEMs :)). The soundstage is also great. Also another thing is that no matter how powerfull the lows are the medium and highs remain untouched just as if you had 2 drivers inside ... impressive. I had as a comparison a pair of Sennheiser CX300. I was very impressed by the lows these had when i got them but the mid-higs are substandard and sound pretty owfull. Overall i am amazed of the quality you can get at this price. The build quality fells also good and ready for a long run with the metal-ish design. I`ve ordered a medium set of Comply Tips, T-400 seems to fit the E10 and i am waiting for them. I was never satisfied with the ruber tips as they don`t feel confortable enough for me. Hope the comply will fill that gap. PS: Just a small thing ... the sound isolation with the stock tips is not great. I found the double flange tips to fit best with best isolation. Hope the situation will change with the Comply Tips. LE: Just got my Comply tips ... first impression: way better. Better isolation after the foam expands and better sound (i reduced the volume by about 15% on my mp3 player). Also alot more confortable than all the supplied tips. A must have for any headphones. :) Would recommand these all the way, because in this price range you can`t go wrong. Great job SoundMAGIC !
Review: Audiophile quality on a budget - I bought these in ear phones to use with my phone as a mobile music source. I have like a lot of people a great love of music and like to listen to as much as possible. I have always had a great appreciation of audiophile quality music playing systems as the lack of distortion , true to life frequency response and realistic dynamics bring you as close as possible to the way the artist intended it to be - true to life ! I was looking for a pair of phones that didn't cost too much as mobile phones can be easily damaged or lost but they had to be close to the sound of a good domestic system as I can't compromise on quality. I had read good reviews of the soundmagic E10 s so I decided to order a pair - reds were out of stock so I could only get the purple and black colour. They come in 3 or 4 colours - the purples are a bit girly but heh they all sound the same. May get a pair of red and pass the purples on to my daughter or something. So not to digress too much - what about the sound quality ? Didn't really expect too much for £35 but boy was I surprised ! The reviews that I had read were true to form. First thing that I noticed was the balance - there was no emphasis at any part of the sound spectrum as bass was tight , controlled and deep, midrange was sweet and clear and top end was extended and smooth with lack of any obvious distortion - top notch. The thing that impressed me was the bass end which is full but tunefull and you can clearly follow a bass line. Other in ear phones that I have tried in the same price range are awfull in this respect so the Soundmagic E 10s get a firm 5 Star thumbs up from me. Build quality seem very good and packaging and accessories are great. Absolute bargain ! G

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How tough are these? I heard something about the glue not being very strong.**
A: I can't speak for other people's ones, but the ones I got are super strong. I've dropped them put and put them through the wash and they still work great!

**Q: Many here suggest Comply. Is it because E10 isn't so good w/out, or is it a general suggestion for all buds? Do I need Comply for E10 to sound great?**
A: Which inserts fit and sound best is a highly personal experience depending a lot on the physical dimensions of your ear. The E10 comes with enough silicone inserts that you should be able to find one that sounds good. The Comply foam inserts may be more comfortable and/or provide more isolation for you. In terms of sound quality you probably will not notice much if any difference IF you were getting a good fit with the stock silicone inserts. The sound quality is all about the fit, regardless of the insert or the material.

**Q: How good is the bass on this?**
A: The bass is pretty good considering the price of the earphones. They don't have spectacular bass but definitely not bad for $42. I always look for earphones with good bass and I am satisfied with these.

**Q: what is the dynamic range of these headphones?**
A: The ear-buds are double flange and you don't hear outside noise. You don't need to to turn up the volume, they allow you to have your own concert in your head. I bought 2 pairs so if something happens to them,I have a back-up set. They are well worth buying.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mixed feelings - really strange strengths and weaknesses
*by T***N on 9 March 2014*

First, I'm not a big user of earphones, so bear that in mind with my comments. I'm also a very late adopter of mobile technology. I eventually realised that I needed earphones to make better use of my recently acquired smart phone and I've always thought the 'speakers' on my iPad mini were tinny beyond belief. So I searched for recommendations on the web and these earphones were praised everywhere. Some reviews even suggested you'd have to spend 3-figure sums to get better sound. So I took the plunge. APPEARANCE: They do look good. I know that shouldn't be a major factor, but the packaging, presentation and the 'phones themselves all contributed to a value-for-money feeling. Here they're described as 'silver/black', but there's no silver visible anywhere - they're a gray/black combination. Personally I find it attractive. CONTENT: At this price I think I expected to receive a pair of earphones and nothing else. I was surprised, pleasantly so, to see what else was provided. There's a really tidy hard-shell storage case. It's about 2.5" square - jet-black with a bright red zip closure all the way round the middle. Inside, each half-shell has a mesh net pocket extending full-width and about half-way up its open height. Looks well constructed and very useful. In one of the mesh pockets was a small SoundMAGIC spring-clip, presumably for attaching the earphone cable to a collar or other item of clothing. In the other was a plastic bag with the writing "SoundMAGIC Ear hook Comfortable rubber earhooks for cable back to ear" Through the plastic I could see what turned out to be 6 different pairs of rubber tips for the earphones (different sizes and shapes) and what looked like a small pair of bent plastic rods. I assumed they were the 'earhooks'. Surprise! When I emptied the bag, I got rubber tips, but it turned out the earhooks were actually an image printed on the clear plastic bag. Very strange. I still can't explain this. Nevertheless the different sized tips have provided me with a really comfortable fit, and I don't feel like I need any hooks or clips to keep them in place. SOUND: The earphones themselves are surprisingly, to me, very good indeed. Since I got them I have listened to classical and jazz music, solo instruments and large ensembles, and the 'phones are genuinely very pleasing and satisfying. However, the cable is incredibly noisy! I don't know if this is a characteristic of all earphones of this type or only these. When I move around, or even just turn my head, the cable brushing against my clothes or head generates thumps and rumbles that are incredibly distracting. To get some idea of what I'm talking about and see if your own 'phones have the same issue try this test: pinch the cable at any point really tightly with one hand, using your thumb and one or two forefingers; now, using the other hand, flick the cable with your forefinger above where you've pinched it and again below where you've pinched it. I find these two conditions massively different. The 'below' flick causes no problems - all the cable vibrations and noise get trapped and damped out by my pinched thumb and fingers. But the 'above' flick produces a massive thump in my ears as all the cable noise is transmitted straight to me ears. It's as if the cables were acting as a microphone. It may be, but it's not clear, that this is exactly why the spring-clip is provided - to anchor the cable as close to your head as possible. SUMMARY: Build, appearance, extras, basic sound quality, all seem 'good' verging on the 'excellent'. But until I've resolved this cable noise I can't say this will be my preferred method of listening. I'm happy to persevere because the positive impressions of everything else in this purchase make me feel there has to be a way around it.
