(photo) Adding one or more of these bulbs to an existing planted aquarium will create a bright and colourful feature that contrasts with the aquarium. Nymphea lotus green Nymphaea lotus green is a species that has stunning lime green leaves when mature. Planting and On Going Care On arrival, rinse the bulb under running water to remove any debris Drop the bulb into the aquarium and let it sit on top of the substrate (sand, gravel etc) Do not bury the bulb, it will cause it to rot Ensure plenty of light and a weekly fertiliser Note - using a fertiliser containing Iron will enhance and maintain the red colouration of the red lotus bulb leaves Please note this species can take several weeks to months to acclimatise and grow new shoots and leaves - you need to be patient Lotus Bulb The product is shipped in bulb form for immediate planting in the aquarium, and as the plant develops the leaves will grow to the water surface. We just plopped it in on the 23rd of April(As shown in the first two pictures, these are just overall tank pictures, we didn't expect it to grow so fast, or I would have done a day by day as it is so interesting!) The third picture (where it looks like an alien crawling along the tank) was six days later! The last two pictures are from today, (17th May) A few of my snails have tried very, very hard to eat it, and we have Columbian Ramshorn Snails that tend to destroy plants in a short time.
