Gel is impossible to wash off the plant
Positive first, it is indeed Riccia fluitans, I was happy that there was no bait and switch, since this one can be a little hard to get at times. Negative, the tissue culture gel used is fairly tough (it needs to be washed off or it rots and hurts plants, I know this because I've bought tissue culture before), it's all right for plants with fibrous roots but should never be used for a moss or liverwort or any delicate plant. When I attempted to wash it off it was stronger than the riccia and because of the very fragile easily fragmenting nature of riccia it broke in a million pieces and I had a few chunks I was able to wash the gel from without breaking. Normally riccia fragmenting isn't a big deal, you just grow all the fragments, but because it was a tissue culture plant there tends to be an adjustment period in which an amount of the tissue dies back, in this case the fragments were around 5 mm and they all died. The chunks started to grow but apparently some of the gel that I must have not been able to wash off started rotting and the chunks also died. All in all I'm quite dissatisfied and I'm not sure if the seller ever has tried removing the gel themselves from the plants because it wasn't very feasible for my batch.

Beautiful, well cared for moss!
Amazing! They looked beautiful upon arrival (except 1. It wasn’t their fault! Massachusetts was 19F at the time and 1 died. The rest flourished and within days were showing new growth.I tied them to the wood in the photo using a super fine, green monofilament and they just took off!Couldn’t be more happy with this moss.

great seller/great product
I received six (3/4 inch size) plants in my one tissue culture order. I planted some in substrate at 14" water depth, and glued some to the floating pieces of jungle val(because it wouldn't float for me). ALL of the pieces have quadrupled in size. Great purchase!

Could be very nice or very bad
Its always a mystery what you will get, Ive order this at least 3 times only because I can not find it anywhere else. you either get 5 quarter sized parts and sometimes you get a little more. it should be more consistent. The last one I got wasn't very good there was a lot of browning.

Great plant
This is a really cool plant. It arrived as several chunks and was a little bit yellow. I super glued the clumps to a stone. After about a month, it's grown together and is green, healthy, and getting bigger. My shrimp and cory catfish really like it. I use CO2 and fertilizers, so I'm not sure how it would grow without those.

Love this plant
Beautiful plant! People will have you believe you need co2 for this to grow but if you have enough guppy you can float this and it'll grow amazingly and then you can place it where you want!

Was not riccia.
It was a small stem plant with leaves, but not riccia fluitans/crystalwort.

Disappointed
Not at all as pictured, it was broken up into small pieces and didn’t seem to be very fresh. I put it on a rock and wrapped it, hopefully it grows and wasn’t just a waste of money.
