Two Homes

Myself and my son’s dad separated when my son was 8 months old. Although, his norm is having not being parented in a nuclear family, he is at an age where he is starting to realise his family network is not the norm in wider society. This book has really helped my son to make sense of being co-parented and it is normalised in the book in a child friendly way. It appears to help him have an early understanding of his family dynamics. Extremely needed book for children being raised in alternative family structures in a thoughtful and age-appropriate way for even young children. Thank you!

This is such a lovely book that my 6 and 3 year old really enjoy reading and listening to. It helps them feel good about a difficult situation. This book helps normalise having parents who are separated

To the point and simple. A good way of explaining parents separating in a fun way :). How it should be. Things are different but it doesn't mean that can't be good.

Bought this for my kids to explain what was happening when me and their father separated. It is a lovely book and easily leads to having a good conversation about what’s going on.

Great for younger kids, my 7 year old liked it but wouldn't have thought it would be suitable for kids much older as it is very simple

I was looking for appropriate books to gently explain to my 5 year old about his family dynamic. I bought this one and other books based around diversity and acceptance. This one looks pretty good, easy to read and understand.

This book is appropriate for toddlers. Very simple so they can understand. I am very happy with it.

Estuve buscando cuentos que expliquen el divorcio normalizando la situación para niños, todos los que encontré hablaban de ''peleas'' o incluían a los padres. Éste solamente destaca las ventajas de tener ''dos casas'' de una manera tierna. Para más información puedes ver videos en youtube sobre este cuento. Pero lo recomiendo 100% incluso para regalar a padres que acaban de divorciarse (evidentemente el regalo es para los niños). UNA JOYA DE CUENTO. pdta. Para los ''non speakers'' el inglés es sencillo

The book received today, seems used and not in good condition.

I was a child therapist and am now a parent of a child and going through a divorce. I read this book to my 2 year old son at the time when we talked to him about his parents splitting apart. He really grasped it and held on. This book and another got him through the move to a new place and helped him to adjust to visits between two homes. We revisit it as necessary and when things change. Sometimes my son will ask for it. I keep it on a low shelf so he can hear it when he wants. I can't recommend this book more highly. I have suggested it to other parents as well and they told me it was really helpful. I love that it is so age appropriate and positive. It reminds the child that both parents still love him and will both provide a loving and comfortable and safe environment for him to come and go. It eases the anxiety of going from house to house and provides reassurance.
