Darlac Lawn Scarifier Telescopic

This was perfect for scarifying a small lawn but really hard work physically !Although I would not hesitate to recommend it if you have a strong core and significant arm strength.I have however decided to purchase a cordless scarifier for my side lawn and front lawn as they are much bigger and couldn’t face doing it manually ( still aching!) and looking forward to the battery driven one arriving and doing all the hard work for me.

I was very surprised how effective this device was and it was significantly easier to use and more effective than a manual rake. The build quality may mean it will only last three or so years but it is still worth the money. I have a 140ft x 50ft garden and anything bigger may require an electric scarifier.Not as harsh at scarifying as an electric device, which is a good thing.Easier to manoeuvre than an electric device.ConsSeems a little flimsy: The plastic cuff around the joint in the handle came loose after 30 minutes but it still works fine.Durability: I have a feeling that it may only last for a few years but for the price it is still a bargain.

When installing the blades and telescopic connector, especially when misaligning the last screw hole, considerable force is required to align it and insert it. However, the result is excellent, and my hands no longer feel sore. I wish I had known about this tool sooner!

Arrived without the means to fit the head to handle. Rang the company and explained but they sent me a spare wheel instead. Fashioned a fix myself.Works well now.

Did a good job of removing thatch and breaking up soil prior to reseeding my lawn. Very handy for small lawns (less than 20m2 I would day as it is quite hard work at times) so was perfect for the are I was recultivating. Lightweight and feels of sturdy construction.

Great piece of kit! Does the job v well. Good exercise for you thats for sure. Clears up dead grass v well. Easy to put together, quality good and id say just about value for money.

Like another reviewer, I'm pleased that I ignored the negative reviews from people who assumed they were buying a tool that makes scarifying an effortless task. Also I'm pleased that it requires a bit/lot of energy as I still want the exercise. This is a well-designed, simple but high quality tool that makes the effort far more productive - and, thus, pleasurable. I have a number of Darlac tools and all are of very high quality. Overall this specimen represents excellent value.

Having read the other reviews I thought this would be just the job to cheaply scarify my much in need of scarifying lawn. I was very excited about it coming (pretty sad eh!)and when it arrived I couldn't wait to give it a go. It seemed sturdy enough, although the wheels were a little wonky, and I decided to put it to the test the following weekend. I didn't know what to expect from it and after a few pulls and pushes was left a little deflated. It got the thatch up to a degree, although not the moss, and didn't really do much more than I could have done with my spring tine rake (which I had to use afterwards anyway to get the removed thatch, and moss up). It wasn't useless, but it wasn't remarkable either. My main problem however, was the telescopic handle which was a pain in the back side. I needed it fully extended but no matter how hard I twisted the top shaft to keep it looked in the raised position it kept slipping back down to the lowest position. Eventually, because I'd had to exert so much pressure on it to try and keep it locked in place I ended up cracking the plastic bush at the bottom of the handle, which is riveted to the handle (it split above the rivet and up to the top of the bush)and inserts into the scarifier head and is locked in place with a screw. At this point I ended up tying 4 ty wraps around the bush to stop it completely snapping around the rivet, and tying ty wraps under the top piece of the handle to stop it sliding down, which still didn't stop it.All in all, I wouldn't waste your money on this product. Either make do with your spring tine rake or hire/buy a good power scarifier. This product is cheap for a reason.

Easy to use does exactly what you need to get rid of dead under grass (thatch).

Sicuramente fa il suo dovere. Rimuove abbastanza feltro in superficie. Le ruote aiutano in quanto agevolano il lavoro. Va bene per spazi piccoli. Per grandi prati consiglio una macchina perché la maggior parte del lavoro dovrete farlo voi. Manico estendibile e comodo ma troppo corto.

Antes de nada, decir que no había utilizado antes un escarificador: es fácil de usar (hay que atornillar una pieza y no tiene misterio). Sin embargo, me resulto duro ya que hay que rastrillar el cesped viejo, haciendo algo de fuerza (dude si se rompería, pero no me ha dado problemas en ese sentido).Recoge la hierba muerta/seca sin dañar la viva o el suelo y creo que el resultado es bueno.Supongo que las siguientes veces será mas fácil, pero en estos casos, agradezco tener un jardin pequeño.

El producto está muy bien , escarifica perfectamente, pero la sujeción con el palo, desde mi punto de vista debería ser de metal o algún material semejante, y no de plástico, ya que se puede romper con facilidad al hacer presión.solo viene un tornillo de unión , yo le puse otro para .ejor sujeción.

Comodo ed utile, assolve al suo compito; riesco a d eliminare tutte le erbacce che fanno da velo alla base del prato. Peccato che sia molto faticoso!!!
