I had a small refund, but no replacement for that... So had to figure out a solution myself, a pair of 50mm M2 bolts and we were in business. Now during assembly I had to use my own hollow ended ratchet set to get the bolts in well enough, the provided flat stamped steel spanner was woefully inadequate for the task; especially as the nuts are all nylon lined and so the bolts cut into and seal themselves into place, this makes it very hard with the dinky toy spanner to get them all on tight. But once together sufficiently it was very simple to use, roller along and back, slightly ossilating ones grip to let the pins go into and out of the ground. Now you don't get perfect holes you of course get scratches, so it's perhaps more scouring than you'd like on an ornamental lawn. But let you grass grow to 2-3 centimeters and then go for this, it cuts into the compacted root layer and allows you to water and put fertilizer and improver directly to the soil sub-strait, which was my whole desire. I ended up, after three months use and work, getting my lawn greener, more weed free and looking splendid. It helped with breaking into and neutralizing brown patches from our pet dogs and the grass really did spring into life quite dramatically after what must have been a decade of not being tended to by the prior owners of our property. Best used when it has rained or after watering, then it is a breeze. **Q: can anyone confirm the diameter of the handle shaft please? I'm thinking this with some freeweights added will give it better weight** A: I bought this a while ago and although reasonably priced it's not fit for purpose. the metal cross bar that holds the plastic wheels with the spikes collapses into the spikes after a time in use. In the end I had to make a reinforcement bar to attach to the existing metal to stop this happening. It turned out to be a successful result. In retrospect I should have sent it back. You pays your money and you takes your choice. Look for something stronger. Once assembled, it feels very sturdy and works well on damp ground. I expect it to last for many years. Assembly requires a screwdriver and a set of ring spanners: 8mm, 11mm, 12mm, 13mm and 14mm (the small 11mm spanner supplied is not sufficient). It comes with an illustrated parts list and a load of nuts, bolts and washers all in one bag. It's a good idea to sort out all the parts and check them against the list before starting work. I found that one spike nut was missing, but I found a suitable replacement in my garage. However, it's a British company so I've no doubt they'd have been able to supply a spare if I'd rung them up.
