Lighter & easier to use
I've had many Philips Linda hair removal IPL's before. I used to agonise when I had to do it every 6 weeks or so because they're so heavy & difficult to hold. My arm would be hiring at the end. So when my last one (yet again) stopped working (they have battery issues, you're supposed to use them at least every 6 months or more often otherwise the battery 🔋 stops working & charging. Although on my previous one, I had used it 2-3 months before. Philips kindly exchanged them for me & refunded when possible if in warranty. I have to say, even with infrequent & not always sticking to schedule (either due to forgetting OR summer time as tanning & IPL don't go together for me, it really stings my skin, I have light olive skin, dark hair, tan deeply quickly), I've had impressive results. One thing about Philips IPL that has a winner over others for me 8s that I was told all their BRI range (I believe all their models after 2017) are designed to work not only over shaved hair but tweezed out or waxed hair also. I'm still in the process of using these but they seem as good as the bigger & heavier models. Philips told me they're the same. Note that this model doesn't have a skin detection button (which automatically detects the number suitable for your skin, but I had one of those before & the number is sometimes too high& I get done discomfort). I have 2 points I'd like to give feedback for Philips Lines range. One us please please make the devices KIGHTER & SMAKKER, thus easier to hold & use. Another thing Philips needs to improve with them is why they all look so similar OLYS it's not easy to detect from the box or even looking at the device which model you have. They need to be more distinguished. Please read the instructions carefully prior to use. It is very important.

Do not give up, it works eventually
First of all, I find the device easy to use and the pain easy to tolerate even on the highest setting. After the first two to three treatments, I was getting frustrated and almost stopped using the device thinking it was a waste of money and time as I did not see any difference. I am so glad I did not give up, however, as I started noticing a huge improvement after the third or fourth time I used it. To be fair, I have to add that I was not very hairy to start with, but my legs are now pretty much hair free, I spend maybe five minutes weekly on removing the very few and fine strands of hair still left in that area. I still get some hair on my underarms but way, way less than I used to before starting the treatment, and I am hoping that even those will stop growing if I continue. It takes the longest to see results in the bikini area, partly because the skin is more delicate there so I did not use the device on the highest setting, unlike on the legs and underarms. Still, I can see a big difference already and hoping for more over time. To summarize, it is not a miracle device but excellent value for money, much cheaper and more convenient than going to a salon. Results are probably not as good or as quick either, but a good low cost alternative. Tip: hold the device straight and press firmly down on the piece of skin being treated. I saw the best results over the areas where I did this as opposed to 'hovering' over the skin. Holding it straight down will also prevent the laser light hurting your eyes.

It works well but get used to the smell of burning
Pluses: It works, after 3 treatments I have very little hair regrowth on my legs, underarms is reduced and seems thinner/lighter and there are still several treatments left before the intiial treatment course is done. It hurts far less than an epilator and has a far more pleasing result, and can be used on face and bikini line. It has done the job far better than any razor or hair remover did and needs to be used less often once you get to the maintenence phase. It gives you the feeling that you are less hairy, rather than that you are hairy and have just removed evidence of it. I'm pretty sure that's the main thing we want as women when it comes to hair removal Downsides: it takes a long while to do, you have to move the target only a few ml at a time to overlap areas beign treated not to miss anything. The flashes are extremely bright and leave lines on your vision, their pamphlet says they cannot harm your eyes and no protective eyewear are needed but you'll seriously doubt that when you start getting a headache from the searing flashes and are tempted to look away which obviously can prevent you doing every area thoroughly It will burn any hair you have not removed, which smells horrible, hurts a bit, and the window itself gets very hot, you may not be able to tolerate continual treatment over a particular area especially on your face and underarms. It can overheat like a hairdryer would and refuse to turn on until it has cooled down. The programme you can download to your phone to remind you about fortnightly treatments is quite insistant and you'll get annoyed with "are you sure you wont do it now, it's your last chance!" messages popping up when you havent the time to indulge it. Another downside is that you will still have to keep a razor handy to use before doing a treatment, so it doesn't eliminate the need for other hair removal tools.

Genuine review after months of use
So I bought this product in December last year but I didn't start using it until January this year. I have thick, dark hair and olive skin. The first 4 weeks of use I didn't see much difference but I perused. After about 6 weeks I noticed a massive difference in my leg 're growth. I could go about 2 weeks before any hair started to grow back. Unfortunately I became lazy in keeping up with the top ups and after about 6 weeks of not using this product, my hair growth was pretty much back to normal. I decided to try this because I used to get shavers rash and bumpy skin after shaving and this product has made my legs just seem smoother in general. I wish I took progress pictures. If you are like me and you have thick leg hair and you can be patient and keep up with the top ups then this product will change tour life!! I hardly need to shave anymore and when I Do, I don't seem to have the horrible bumpy skin straight after. I have recommended this product to sort out leg hair to many people already. I could easily go on holiday for a week and not have to shave my legs once. Bikini area... Well, I have hairs as thick as branches so I didn't think this product would really help down there. I did notice a difference after about 6 weeks but the results were no where near as good as my legs. Again, I became lazy with the top ups and now I have to start all over. I reckon if I did my bikini area for 12 weeks then I would see a huge difference. The trouble I had was that my skin down there is darker so I had to trick the product in to zapping. I would hold the button down and put it on my skin and before it could recognise the skin was too dark, it would zap. This is time consuming though. Over all I would recommend this product but only if you are prepared to wait for results and don't become lazy like i did.

Great product that does what it says.
New info.... Edit..... After 6 months it's not working properly..... 2 months on.... This is one of the best purchases in a while. It does take time to get used to especially if you have the setting too high. I have now owned this for 2 months and used to have dark hair around my lip and chin. Having started a professional laser treatments costing £250 it left me very hairy!!!!! So I bought this and its great. It has given me a hairless chin and lip and when there are signs I just top it it. The hair grows back much softer. Warning: as stated it does not take away the white hairs. I can only recommend this as a hairy person normally...... Its worth getting this. Under arms brilliant and hairless too. 😁 becareful not to be tempted to set the setting to high for quick results. It will work well in the low settings to.

It stops working after 6 months of use!
I would not buy this item again. It was working so good when I bought it, but after 6 months of using (and only once every two weeks) it is not working as expected. There is a "Ready" light that only when it is in red color you can press the button to light the laser. This has been made as a security measure and only when you press the machine against your skin the light gets red and you can press the button. It is more difficult if you try to use the machine against a part of the body that is not flat, like in the knees for instance. After 6 months I noticed it was more and more complicated to get the red light on. I managed to try to press the machine against the skin in several positions, but it takes ages until it decides to illuminate the red led. A waste of money. Probably other hair removal machines more expensive work better. This one could have only a very simply basic use. Very disappointed and I get very angry every time I try to use it in a not flat part of the body.

Easy to use and works well
Works well so far. Regrowth is slower with IPL and in some instances, the hair doesn't grow back. I use it all over my body - lips, hands, fingers, legs, underarms, private area (full bikini area). Little tip: I ice the private area before using it as it's more sensitive there and the ice numbs the area so it doesn't feel painful. The full bikini area is the toughest to get rid of the hair though. I've been to salon treatments before but decided to get one for use in my own home so I can do it as frequent as I like and privately. It feels strange flashing parts of me to outsiders. That, plus, I feel the money trickling out of my pocket by hundreds each time I go to the salon. The smell of the burnt hair can be a little bit unnerving but I got used to it after a while. I use it when watching TV as well so it's not too boring. The flashing light doesn't hurt the eyes. I bought the corded version cos of concerns over the battery of the cordless one. I don't want the "power" to decrease over time, and the cord is long enough to navigate around me, an ease to use.

Good results already only after 2 treatments
I bought this when it was on the sale. It is one of the more affordable machines on the market. I have always epilated, and I was sceptable about IPL machines. I do suffer from ingrown hairs, so I bought this machine hoping it would help with this. I have now been using this for a month. The intrusions which come with it are very informative and tells you exactly what you do. This can only be used for certain skin colours which the intrusions explain. I have done 2 treatments so far. I have already noticed a difference in hair growth. The hair growing back seems to be reduced. But I have mostly noticed that it is growing much slower. This is also only after 2 treatments so I am looking forward to seeing how I get on with it after further treatments! The one thing I was unsure about is the fact that the instructions say you can either shave or epilated before treatments. However I have researched IPLS and elsewhere I have heard that you shouldn't remove the root of the hair, so should shave rather than epilate. This is because the light from IPL is absorbed by the hair, and travels down the root of the hair into the surrounding tissue. I therfore have stopped epilating, and have been shaving instead. I will update this review in the future to update my progress!
