Great for My Delonghi, and I can be much more precise.
First disclaimer, (it may go without saying for some) make sure if you’re getting this that you’re ok with making a lot of adjustments to your technique. You’ll need a good espresso grinder for your beans. I’m not a pro, and I don’t have the equipment, but after some tutorials and experimentation I was able to get some good results. This portafilter looks great in my Delonghi ECP 3 Series espresso machine. I’m used to a similar setup in my old Delonghi, which this fits in too. I was concerned about the fit, because different sites said this or that basket wouldn’t fit with Delonghi’s portafilter. I love the quality of the handle and the basket. There are tight springs that hold the basket in place when I dump the coffee puck. You can see the springs in the pictures I shared. That makes it harder if you want to put the basket back in. I don’t plan on doing that much. I’m 100% satisfied with what I got. The handle unscrews so you can wash the steel separately. I always wash this by hand immediately anyway. It’s easier for me. I used 19 g in my last shot. That makes a big double. Because I can’t control the pressure in my machine, I think it tends to spray a little. At least with the bottomless I see that. I can work on my grind size and amounts. The shape of the bottomless portafilter makes it easier to fit a bigger cup if I want. I can also tamp on a flat surface to be more consistent. The portafilter fits better in the espresso grinder to catch grinds without tilting the filter in. I noticed there aren’t any reviews on this portafilter which is exactly like the one with a black plastic handle. Personally I prefer the look of this one. I bought a tamper with a similar handle years ago which feels just as sturdy. I don’t unscrew that often. I personally like the weight. I suppose I’d prefer a weighted handle, but this should be great. It’s ~300 g altogether or 10.5 oz.

Works well
Works well with my delonghi. The wood is very nice. The only downside is that it sprays a little sometimes.

A step on the path to elevating your morning coffee routine.
I selected the CAPFEI 51mm Bottomless Portafilter 2 Ears Compatible with De'Longhi, for my espresso machine Delonghi ECP35/ECP36. These are solid and good quality feel and finish. They fit with no adjustments and have a few baskets for single or double shots. Using the Bottomless Portafilter takes a bit more effort to ensure your coffee is ground the correct size and tamped in well to get that magical espresso shot with crema. With this portafilter I was able to start getting the magical shot, though initially it was hit or miss. I ended up getting a grinder after buying this as the CAPFEI 51mm Bottomless Portafilter to help better control the grind. This was a step to elevating my morning routine. I would highly recommend!

Does not work for me (Delonghi Stilosa
Good quality for the price but doesn’t work well for me in my Delonghi Stilosa. Flow is too fast no matter how fine I grind.. Edit: 4 --> 5 stars my grinder was the issue... #grindfiner

Leaking, splattering, disappointment
I used this portafilter on a delonghi machine for maybe eight months characterized by leaking and wildly uneven espresso discharge. It doesn’t seal well with my machine, often with barely 50% of the espresso making it into the cup. After many attempts to refine the grind and packing procedures, I finally eliminated human error from the equation, gave up and went back to the smaller portafilter that came with the unit. 1/27/26 UPDATE: The manufacturer reached out and refunded the product cost. Much appreciated.

I don’t often write reviews, but felt the need to in this case since I was seeing people mention this does not work well with a delonghi Stilosa (EC260BK). Check out this video of me brewing a shot on a delonghi stilosa! This bottomless portafilter works and fits great. It’s really been a game changer in my espresso brewing allowing me to keep a close eye on the effects of my puck prep. For anyone with spraying/leaking issues, make sure you are grinding fine enough (espresso grade grinder) and will need to twist the portafilter further than the stock one. In my case it goes slightly further than centre.
