Great bit of gear!
This item has been a very welcome addition to my board, it works so well, no noise, no delay and well made bit of kit!!The price was just right too, at least this company are not trying to rip anyone off!

Easy set up, long battery life!
I bought thisitem to go wireless with my pedalboard, it works smoothly and easly! It uses common AAA batteries therefore there are no risks of built in short internal battery life, I played above 50hrs with rechargeable batteries!I hook the transmitter to my belt and use a small patch lead but it can be also easily plugged directly into the guitar.Flip side: the power supply has to have opposite polarity, therefore you need a polarity changing adapter to make it work.

An excellent piece of kit
An excellent piece of kit. the design and build are top notch. The transmitter is a little work of art and slots perfectly into my strat input as well as looking good againts the midnight wine finish. I haven't gigged it yet but if it performs as well as it has on outdoor testing then all well and good. I would also agree with previous reviewers that it is best powered seprately and not off your pedal board daisy chain to reduce the risk of unwanted noise. I play in a seven piece covers band so space on stage is often very limited and I just got fed up with getting tangled up with leads. I'd tried the cheaper Alesis system and had nothing but earache from the sound guy about drop out, degredation and hiss so fingers crossed he'll like this piece of kit as much as I do. And how nice to be able to buy something made in this country.

Best sub £200 System. Beats Line 6.
Just a great bit of kit. I researched them all, but kept coming back to Smooth Hound. It just looked and felt like a good product at a pretty fair price.Having brought a system, it's tiny, it works perfectly, sounds better than my cables, has great battery life.My only complaint is the micro-suction tape that you apply to the receiver to stop it banging on Strat type guitar inputs. It split apart on second use, I since complained to Smooth Hound as this is a bit naff, they sent me 10 new pads to keep in the kit box. So just about saved that one. My friend had a similar problem, and told me they found and brought some replacement tape, so it's a manageable problem.I'd say the bang for buck is the best of the competition and it's a pretty good design. If your looking, buy one.

Good but flawed.
Pretty good, simple and easy to use but gathers too much interference from some pedals, compressor and acoustic simultion are problems so far. There are loudish clicks from on off switching. None of these problems with my line 6 g50. The big advantage of the Classic is that the transmitter can fit close to the guitar. With the G50 grabbing the lead to plug in can risk flicking it against the body - I have ruined two immaculate guitars because if this. Best deal would be G50 with Classic type transmitter.

Excellent piece of kit
I play bass in a hardcore band. Our show involves lots of running around and this is ideal. The receiver is small and compact and very light. It doesn't feel particularly durable, but so long as you don't stand on it, it shouldn't cause any problems. The transmitter requires two AAA batteries. The two included lasted more than six hours at practice. I replace the batteries before every gig so I can't comment further. Because thereceiver contains two batteries it swings around if you move around too much. However, I use an adapter and attach it to my bass strap using a short jack lead. Smooth Hound recommend using a Neutrik coupler, which I do, and find it works very well. Neutrik NYS236 Jack Socket Coupler Mono - 1/4 (Mono) Jack So I can highly recommend this system.

Great Kit but be prepared to mount it on the strap!
Cant fault this kit on its technology, the Wireless works really well and the sound is great, the build of the components and parts are fine. The quality of the Wireless adapter is solid and well made. All round the equipment has a great solid feel to it. I bought it because of this feature and because I wanted something that had some interference management etc. The presentation and instructions are clear and easy to follow and overall I would have given this a 5 but for the following. My only caveat is that the adapter has been built to be used in conjunction with a through connector for most guitars as "plugging in direct" leaves the adapter swinging in the wind, unless you have a side mounted socket, e.g. a Gibson Les Paul or side mounted socket on your acoustic. For anything other than this its the "micropoor tape" although a good idea has no realistic effect unless stuck on the extreme end of the adapter covering the "Battery Cover Clip". I have two Guitars that this adaptor could be used "plugged direct" without it swinging about, the remaining Guitars would all need to use the through connector method and have the adaptor located on the strap or on the person. This seems a failing in that the adaptor could be built to be plugged in direct making the need for link cabling and mounting the adaptor un-necessary. The whole point of Wireless is to reduce the need for cables!Apart from this I think this is a great piece of kit and well worth buying...it seems most Wireless adapters are made to be carried on the belt , strap or "Wired" to the guitar so this one continues that tradition and does a good job of providing a clean solution for this, albeit using the through connector and requires a 0.5mtr cable to connect the device, the adaptor hangs off the strap pretty snugly and is robust enough to resist being bashed.Although these methods of mounting are common for a lot of wireless adapters it would be refreshing to get one of high quality that plugs in direct but doesn't stick out too much or swing about. This adaptor could be made to sit against the body of most guitars more easily by providing a version with alternative connector on the bottom, or an interchangeable base for altering the jack.I've uploaded a few photos for the benefit of seeing how the device would or would not fit on most guitars...Be prepared to clip it to the strap or the belt as although you could plug it in direct it will stick out rather significantly and the tape will be no use for front facing or end based sockets. My only other comments are around the use of an On/Off "button" shaped like the badge; this is a nice touch on the outside face of the adaptor, showing a green flashing LED, although unlikely, it could be pressed by heavy clothing or jackets or other similar things if used on the belt. Using the Strap method the adaptor is exposed behind you and the button is exposed on the outer face. Leaning back against something or brushing against a wall could affect this in the event of hitting the adaptor button against something or if the guitar taken off and the strap draped against the floor etc...something to think about!Overall this kit is great and hopefully future developments will provide a way of plugging in the device direct to the guitar, for all types, as this would be my personal preference if I could get it. At present most "Plugged Direct" adaptors stick out on Front facing sockets such as a Gibson 335 and don't look particularly neat or as cool as this one would. Keep up the good work and bring out an alternate adaptor jack for front facing sockets!Adding to this some time later I realised that another aspect is " What to keep the Kit in " I hunted about for a decent lightweight case for this and found the Smatree SmaCase G160 - Medium Case for GoPro Hero4, 3+, 3, 2, 1 and Accessories- Travel & Household Case with Excellent Cut Foam Interior - Black & Red This is lightweight and has foam cut pretty much to suit. I just adapted the foam to fit the receiver and all's good. At under £15 for a case and foam its a good deal in my view. I've included a photo at the endIt'd be great if the supplier was offering cases as well..as at present the cardboard presentation case although good isn't going to last the rounds on Gigs

Wirklich, wirklich gut!
