So far the winder works as it should. Very nice quality and pretty. I got the two toned one. The swift on the other hand took a lot of more trial. Workmanship is good but instructions on setup would help. It is lightweight but I placed some of the foam packaging material under it and it stayed in place. After looking at the photos I figured out how it worked but instructions would be better. Overall good for the price.

I was extremely happy to have found this particular yarn winder. My wife had initially pick a less expensive plastic version, but it did not appear to be very stable. This handcrafted yarn winder is not only beautifully crafted, it is very stable and functional. It looks so nice, my wife has it on display when not using it to quickly wind her yarn. I expect her to be still using it for years to come.

This winder is not well-engineered. It winds unevenly. The bobbin doesn’t rotate as it should. The first three cakes I tried, were completely lopsided because the bobbin wasn’t rotating against the cone. The manufacturer has this device rotating unevenly. I added a rubber band to the bottom, and for traction against the cone, but it was only somewhat better. Three more tries did not improve the cake much. It’s pretty but this company forces you to customize the base and I didn’t want any customization. Now it appears I cannot return it and get a refund. I paid $80 for total poop and the manufacturer fully intends to continue making these without alteration to fix the problem.

The winder is very usable and actually quite attractive. It came with an extra rubber belt, which is good because the first just broke after the fifth time using it. I wish replacements were mentioned somewhere in the listing or information given with the product because I am now questioning how long the second belt will last. Unfortunately, the swift is not made as sturdy as I would like and two pieces in the expanding arms broke on the first use when attempting to expand to hold the yarn around the arms. I expect it to be difficult to repair, but for now have been able to tape the broken pieces together to make it somewhat usable. I wish that a replacement would be offered.

I bought this as a Xmas present. At first blush, this is a handsome tool. Seemingly well-made, but it isn't. The blades on the swift exhibit craftsmanship but are little more than oversized popsicle sticks. Flimsy. Two of the blades broke on the first use and are not repairable. Secondly, there should be two (rather than the one provided) ring clamps to secure the height of the swift on its axle. Thirdly, an additional table clamp needs to be provided to secure the swift pedestal to the table. without it, the swift wanders about the table when using the ball winder. Needless to say, both my wife and I are highly dissapointed.

I wish they told you what the extra piece was for. (Answer: it’s a clamp to hold the winder to the table). Items are well made and super pretty. However I have to hold the umbrella in place. Also the arms can’t be secured tightly or it will spin apart.

Product arrived and I assembled per instructions, watched some videos on how to operate it and followed instructions exactly. Didnt work and according to several videos about troubleshooting yarn winders, it looked like a slipped gear. Apparently I got a messed up one but was refunded.
