Meguiar's G17216 Ultimate Compound Color and Clarity Restorer, 15.2oz, Black

Very effective at restoring paint work. Have used this on paint work which had not been looked after for some time - was dull and stained. Oxidisation is easy to polish out with this product, deep stains were not so easy, and takes quite a few applications. But, that's what I'd expected. Overall, this will greatly improve the appearance of neglected paint, with no expert skills required.

Great compound, I have, in the summer, a garge full of car cleaning products, some only last a few days and some are hard work to apply. I get a great result on my my clear coat finish on my Honda Accord, which is very soft, just like new with a moderate amount of effort. Word of warning, don't leave car care products in the garage over the winter, if they freeze in their containers they are ruined, I put mine in a box and put the in the loft out of harms way.

Removed really bad marks from my bonnet after trying several other polished, it’s really good, well worth the money.

All in all, a good product, but not quite the top level I was expecting from Meguiar`s. I hand polish as I am old school, and maybe the product behaves differently with a machine polisher. But having used the same method, and different products in the past, I did`nt find the cutting action was as tough as expected, in comparison to previous compounds used. Basically had to capture every panel with two applications to reach the standard required for polish. Even the odd tar spot seemed to be such an effort to remove, which I`ve never had with other compounds. I guess it`s fine for removing light damage, like water marks, bird dropping burns, tree sap clouding and such like.

I have used this on my car and it does give an amazing finish if you use it correctly. My tip would be to keep the sponge wet and moving when using to stop burning the paintwork or swirl marks. (If using with a electric polisher) A Great product and there are Videos on Utube which will help you obtain a good finish.

This did hide the scratches on the car reasonably well until it rained and then the scratches showed up again as before. Therefore it didn't work in any lasting way. Rather a lot of money to spend on something that did not have the effect I was expecting.

I brought this product to remove small scratches in my vehicles paintwork it took a few passes but did remove scratches with no apparent damage to clear coat in surrounding paint

So I enjoy detailing as a hobby and am not a professional, but I was seriously impressed by this product. Either by hand or DA this worked wonders on minor imperfections and got rid of those unsightly swirls. It is easy to work into the paint and I felt comfortable using it straight off. Very nice!

Before I say this, I will say do not expect an ABSOLUTE miracle. If something is really deep, or the metal of the dang car is showing, it won't just repair it. BUT, for scratches and defects it works great. I saw a guy on YouTube use this and he restored the HECK out of this SUV, so I began my journey to restore my 1997 Ford Escort. YOU DO have to use a bit of elbow grease, especially for deeper scratches, but PLEASE just take your time, because it will work. My car had a LOT (of course, from probably never being waxed, and poorly taken care of from its previous owners) of scratches. I got rid of all of them I spent my time on. Black spots speckled across the car all are gone!! Just keep going over and over it. SRUB, BOY! Some dude pulled out one day and put a long blue scratch on my white car......... and believe it or not, the entire scratch is gone now. It took a while to scrub, but seriously, you can't even tell it was there other than the little nick of metal he created when hitting the car. I restored the entire car with this and Turle Wax Ceramic Polish And Wax (I decided to save $20-$30 and not buy Megiuar's Polish and wax separately, but if you have the money, I'm sure they work!) It came out beautiful, white, and most of all, not 1997 hahaha. AND P.S... I don't think you're supposed to do this (or at least it doesn't say if we can or not) but it works well on black plastic (like your mirrors.) I scrubbed some on my mirrors and they look new!! I have these deep stains on my front and back bumper from the previous owner letting it sit with leaves, rocks, dirt, etc. all over it, so I don't know if I could've used a stronger applicator (like steel wool or something) and got it off or not. Kind of upset and want help getting it off, but I feel that's kind've in the zone of what you shouldn't expect this product to just fix. If it's beyond repair (like rust or DEEP scratches) then it's beyond repair and NO just one compound product will help! :(

Ho acquistato questo prodotto per lucidare la mia auto Nera dopo ben 3 passate devo dire che ha tolto l80 percento dei difetti sono soddisfatto del risultato migliora anche la lucentezza della vernice ovvio che non fa miracoli !! Ma migliora la situazione.. in ogni caso vi consiglio di fare una prova su una piccola porzione di vernice o quello che si vuole lucidare per vedere eventuali reazioni strane.. per grosse superfici ad esempio cofani e portiere di auto vi consiglio di procedere a piccole aree alla volta e di farlo in un luogo chiuso perché il prodotto tende a seccare presto rovinando il lavoro questo poi dipende se lo passate a mano o con uno strumento meccanico io che sono inesperto ho provato a mano, il risultato è buono ma ovviamente non sostituisce un lavoro fatto da un bravo carrozziere, concludo dicendo che se la vostra auto presenta ossidazione macchie d'acqua o di resina o graffi di piccola entità non profondi allora il prodotto è ottimo ma per problemi più gravi.. rivolgetevi a professionisti.

El producto es excelente. Hay que tomar un par de cosas en cuenta, a mi punto de vista, no es un producto profesional, lo digo porque si estás pensando que va a quedar como nueva la pintura del coche, simplemente no lo hará y te vas a decepcionar. Hay que verlo como que esta pensado para usarse para personas que simplemente quieren realzar la pintura de su vehículo. Y para eso es excelente, porque simplemente puedes hacerlo con el producto y un aplicador a mano. Lo único que no me gustó, es que queda grasoso al final.

Das Produkt eignet sich sehr gut zur Aufbereitung leicht angewitterter Lackoberflächen. Nachdem auf dem Lack meiner Ducati nach über 10 Jahren Gebrauchsspuren (Haarlinienkratzer, Oxidation) sichtbar waren, habe ich ihn gründlich mit der Ultimate-Serie gepflegt. Zuerst wurde eine kleine Menge Ultimate Compound auf den Schwamm der Poliermaschine aufgetragen. Mit leichtem Druck wurden so jeweils Teilflächen behandelt. Anschließend habe ich den Lack mit einem Mikrofasertuch poliert. Alle Haarlinienkratzer waren verschwunden und die Oberfläche war glatt (eine ultimative Steigerung des Glanzgrades ist durch eine weitere Behandlung mit Ultmate Polish möglich). Nach einer abschließenden Behandlung mit Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax war der optimale Glanzgrad erreicht und ein schöner Wetlook erzielt. Aus meiner Sicht ist Meguiars Ultimate Compound eine besonders schonende und gleichzeitig effektive Möglichkeit für die Lackaufbereitung. Für neue Lackoberflächen benötigt man dieses Pflegemittel selbstverständlich nicht.
