Buy it and sit back with a pan galactic gargleblaster
Hey you, sass that Douglas Adams? He’s a hoppy Frood who really knows where his towel is.The day Adams died I genuinely cried. The universe he created is one of such fantasy and fun that I regularly come back to it. It’s so simply written and yet so complex and fun, every detail is thought of (bistro mathematics, the dozens of uses for a towel, the variations of a Gin and tonic) and some details are so brilliantly vague (space is big. Really big!) it genuinely is laugh a minute. The use of language is brilliantly retro (kill-o-zap guns) and so wonderfully whimsical (Slartibartfast is a reoccurring engineer who did the crinkly bits around Norway and won an award for them)To say this trilogy of five had an impact on my life is an understatement. It’s more important than any Shakespeare play, better value than the encyclopaedia galactica, more popular than the celestial home care omnibus, the books; where god went wrong, some more of gods mistakes and just who is this god person anyway? You already know the meaning of life is 42 and you know not to panic. Now find out why by doing yourself a favour and reading the cultural phenomenon.

MUST READ
I great book! Well, books! 4 of them! I enjoyed it, even tho I was afraid I might not understand it very well. I was told it's not easy to read this book, esp. when you're not English... but it was great! I love the way it's written! It's so... BRITISH :))) Book was in very good condition as I expected. Then I found out there was another book left to read - Mostly harmless. You should get that one too.

Excellent book.
Incredible read - coming from someone who typically only reads non-fiction. This is the first non-fiction book I have read for years and this is because they usually fail to sustain my interest and I am somewhat into my science. This book was recommended to me by a physics teacher and I don't regret opening it up! Funny adventures and excellently written.

I listerned to the BBC's CD's of the Radio series and thought they were prue gold. To that end I thought it was about time to read the book and to my surprise I found the series was quite true to the book. Which ever way you read/listen to these gems first you wont be disapointed.

Very good value for money since it contains all the books
I'm laughing out loud in the tube while reading this. Very good value for money since it contains all the books. It is quite large though, consider that before buying, you might benefit more from buying each book separately.

One of the best
This series of books is one of the best and once you get started you will find it hard to put down. I would have preferred individual books and not one large one as this is, but at the price who can really complain.

Still one of the cleverest and funniest science fiction books ever written
A true classic and still one of the cleverest and funniest science fiction books ever written, and so much better having all four books in one as it flows seamlessly. A must have for any book shelf.
