The cable gets HOT to touch after 10 min use
I recently added a second monitor to my setup. Since my Mac Mini M4 lacks a dual HDMI output, I ordered a Type C to HDMI cable. My usage is nominal, mainly for work, coding and learning, with a 1080p 120Hz 27” Acer monitor. Nothing crazy, I think. The cable itself is rated for 1080p 240Hz. After a day of use, I noticed no flickering or frame drops. However, the next day I woke up to BAMM!! a dead monitor. I’m not sure if it's the 3 year old monitor or the cable or something else. I have a Spike Guard installed and the wiring is good. I’ve taken all the precautions. The only thing that changed was this cable. I tried connecting the cable to the new monitor and noticed it gets hot to touch after 10 minutes of use. I’m aware that a Type C to HDMI cable requires conversion and generates heat. I’m writing this review as a cautionary tale
