BT Big Button Phone
I gave this product the full star treatment because of its many valued functions and easy to use ability for the Elderly as well as those with poor vision and a busy lifestyle (handsfree option). I love the handsfree calling because it is so simple to use, you just press the middle white button (located beneath the black numbered buttons) and dial as normal, if you made a call holding the reciever to your ear and are stuck hanging on, (like we often do while waiting for companies to answer the phone), you can just press that same white button and hang up and your call remains connected, only this time your hands are free to get on with what ever you need to do while listening out for a response. The volume is loud enough to be heard from the next room (if the doors are opened). The ringer is in three volumes and in 3 different ring tones too. It also has a flashing light for those who have really poor hearing and it is compatible for anyone who has a Community Alarm System giving you an added alarm to your calls and making it audible from any area on your property, including the garden! I highly recommend this phone to anyone who is penny pinching, because it is cheap and of a great quality. The only snag is you do still need to be near the phone when you talk to anyone on a handsfree setting. BT still haven't solved that problem yet, but at least you can talk normally when up close.

Does not ring when connected to extensions.
The BT Big Button 200 telephone is an affordable, easy to use phone that is ideal for elderly people, especially those with sight or hearing problems. It includes the following features: message waiting and incoming call indicator; ringer volume control; volume control for speech; is hearing aid compatible: has extra large buttons; and a last number redial; and amplified incoming or outgoing speech. It can hold up to 13 regularly used numbers, and has a 1571 button. The set-up of the home was as followed: • Room 1: BT200 plugged directly into the master phone socket. • Room 2: BT200 plugged directly into a phone socket. • Room 3: BT100 plugged into an extension lead, plugged directly into another phone socket. Everything was working fine until we decided to change the layout to: • Room 1: BT200 plugged directly into the master phone socket. • Room 2: BT200 plugged into an extension lead, plugged directly into a phone socket. • Room 3: BT100 plugged into an extension lead, plugged directly into another phone socket. That is when the problems began the Room 2 phone worked okay for making and receiving calls, but it no longer rung. I initially thought it was the extension and therefore replaced it, but it made no difference. After testing each phone in each room, it became clear that: • The BT100 worked perfectly in any room. • Both BT200's would allow the making and receiving of calls, but would not ring when incoming calls where received, if they where plugged into an extension. Why this is happening is anyone’s guess. The BT200 has a noticeable cheaper build quality compared to the BT100, and I suspect that corners where cut.

Very good phone
I liked this phone because I wanted a phone with large dial buttons for ease of dialing and also the hands-free function. When On first impression I loved the design and colour. Buttons are perfectly sized, other function buttons were just the right place and easy to use. However, the main function of a phone is for calling. I found that hands-free sound level was way too low. When I used it for the first time I noticed the recipient of the call could not hear me properly in the hands-free mode. So despite the nice and clever design I was let down by the sound quality. But I've only used it once so I cannot be sure if I have not missed a setting. UPDATE: I gave up on this phone because the hands free was useless. Callers complaint that the sound was weak and echoed alot. I was just about to buy another phone when I came up with an idea. I asked my friend to call me, but this time I did not pick up the handset and pressed the handsfree button only. It seems to have cured the problem. I am not sure it has been mentioned in the manual (which I never read). So watch out for that problem. I also changed the star rating to 5 after I fixed the problem.

Great for partially sighted people.
Bought this for my mother in law as she is partially sighted. The numbers are really big allowing her to see them with no problems.

Not for the heavy handed!
It's a phone with big buttons and no distractions, great for ease of use for someone who is getting confused with unnecessary button options. Also works with Truecall. It is a lightweight design, which is fine. Unless the person using the phone gets frustrated and heavy handed!!!! We have been through several of these phones, all broken in the same place.

Great for the elderly👍
To replace mum’s old one which eventually died. Great for elderly and hearing impaired. Really good price too.
