A Kent & Cleal game Chess board, natural wood sapele & sycamore veneer - 00421

The speed of delivery exceeded any expectations I might have had, the packaging was superb all that was left was to see whether or not the board was the quality I had hoped for. I shouldn't have had any doubts, the quality is excellent, the depth of the board itself means that placed on a coffee table it looks superb and it has already brought favourable comments from family and friends. All I need now is a decent opponent - or indeed any opponent - so that I can play against something other than a chess book!

I was a little apprehensive before ordering the board having read other reviews which suggested that the materials used in its constuction might not be as described. The board as supplied to me, was exactly as described and exceeded my expectations in every respect. Further, it is extremely well made and was delivered in packaging which preserved its fine appearance. How long it will retain this fine appearance only time will tell, however, given its current price I would not object to purchasing another. Excellent value, I am well pleased!

Good solid board. Ideal for the sideboard and leaving a game out. Slight mark but not worth sending back and may have been done in transit. Nothing I would worry too much about, but it may be worth the supplier adding a little more packing around the corners. Certainly a nice product.

I purchased this chessboard to go with a set of 3" Staunton pattern wooden pieces and it's ideal for them. It's certainly real-wood veneer, and well made for the price. I'd suggest adding and extra finish (such as french polish, or a thin varnish), as the wood looks as though it would be stained easily. Overall I'm very pleased with the board and think it's great value.

Really nice Board, made in wood and looks exactly like the picture.I totally recommend it.It's very large so make sure this is the size you want.

I wasn't sure this was what wanted to accompany a chess set I'd bought as a gift, but I'm not disappointed at all. The item is well made and excellent value.

This Chess Board arrived in pristine condition, extremely well wrapped for the journey, very impressive. The wood has a lovely smooth touch to it and its a joy to play on, the size is just right too. Am very pleased indeed with this purchase.

Had squashed corner on delivery that I did not spot until kids opened it. Might have been me but I don't think so.
