What an amazing little camera
Wow, I’ve never had an action camera before, and there’s loads to choose from, so it was a bit of a gamble, but I’m so glad I opted for this! First off I was pretty shocked by the quality and all the stuff that came with it, I had thought for the very reasonable price it might be a bit cheap, so I was really surprised when I unpackaged it, it really feels like I’d spent more than I had, such a lovely presented and well packaged piece of kit with loads, and I means loads of attachments, which are also quality. Then I found it super easy to set up and transfer vids and pics to my iPhone, and the video quality is fantastic!! So I am so pleased after several hours of research on Amazon, reading all the good and not so good reviews? 100% I’m sure the higher end ones must be even more amazing, but as a first time user I’m honestly blown away.

Good quality and easy to use
Really good camera, battery lasts long, it took it underwater and got great pictures and videos, lots of accessories provided with it. Very handy and easy to use too! I recommend it.

Great wee camera. Just check the box contents
Bought this to mount on my Electric Bike after a few close shaves with idiot drivers. Lots of different mounts supplied and easy to set up. I have it mounted on the handlebars. Video quality is very good as is sound, when out the housing. Very muffled when in waterproof housing, but for me, the video is more important than sound. Image stabilisation is good as is quality of images, both video and stills. Buy a well known branded Micro SD card, not a cheapo one. I have lots of SD cards for my DSLR, which work fine with it, but this camera didn't recognise some of the mainly the cheaper ones. I also like the lens in the camera. I took some videos of aircraft at my local air show on 6th and 7th September 2024. (Ayr, Scotland). Weather was glorious and while trying to track aircraft is tricky due to screen size, ( can be live viewed on phone with a slight lag), the images didn't wash out when panning across a setting sun. Batteries on 4k, 20MP setting last about 40 mins. Havent used the remote control yet. The only issue I had was that the ad says 2 batteries supplied. I got only on in the box, but after contacting AKASO direct, they sent me the battery charger and 2 battery pack for free and in only a few days. Great service. All in all, a great wee camera for the price.

Excellent Value for Money – Great Performance!
I bought the EK 7000 action camera as an affordable alternative to more expensive brands, and I’m seriously impressed with what it offers for the price. The image and video quality are crisp and vibrant, even in challenging light, and the wide-angle lens captures an incredible amount of detail. The included accessories were a nice surprise – plenty of mounts, a waterproof case, and spare parts to get me started straight away. The waterproof housing works flawlessly; I’ve already used it for some underwater shots, and the footage came out crystal clear. Battery life is also better than I expected – having two rechargeable batteries included means I can keep filming for much longer without worrying. The menu is straightforward to navigate, and the Wi-Fi connectivity makes it easy to transfer videos to my phone without extra cables. Overall, the EK 7000 is a fantastic action camera for anyone who wants great performance without breaking the bank. Highly recommended!

Great bundle for price paid
I was looking for an underwater camera to take on holidays in a few weeks, I plan on doing a fair bit of snorkelling. A friend of mine has a GoPro, however I was not looking at spending that amount of money on something that I might only use once. So I did a bit of digging around and come across the Akaso range, in the end I settled on the AKASO EK7000 Action Camera Floating Hand Grip Bundle which ticked all the boxes in what I was looking for, comes with floating handle and a case which has plenty of room for a number of items. Ordered the item on a Friday and was delivered the very next day, out of the box all items advertised and showing in the images were present, I saw on some reviews some items were missing which Akaso promptly sorted out for them. Fortunately in my case no need for this, I will say that the attachment screw for the floating handle might vary in design from image show, but that's neither here or there, still does job on the tin. Setting up the camera is relatively straightforward, I would recommend reading the instructions if this is your first underwater camera of any brand. The waterproof casing seems tough and pretty tight, opening the case is a little stiff but that's a good thing as it means it won't pop open easily whilst you are underwater. I used a small plastic lever like the ones you get in pc/phone repair kits as I didn't want to risk breaking it with my fat fingers. Took a few pictures around the house to test quality with the camera being both in and out of the case and then connected to the app to view and download, image quality seems pretty good for a camera that is in around the £50 range. The real test will be in a few weeks when snorkelling. Video image again is pretty good my only niggle is the constant like white noise hissing on the playback. I cannot comment on battery life properly as only used the camera for about 20 minutes in total whilst setting up and testing, but I still had over half battery left straight out of the box. A couple of reviews mentioned that their remote wasn't working when received, tested mine working perfectly in both modes again will see how this performs underwater. As mentioned you get a lot of accessories, I won't need to use them all on my holiday so will leave what I don't need at home, but it does mean I have space in the case to put other chargers and cables for other devices I will be taking on holiday which means it will all be neat and tidy in one place in my carry on bag and not just stuffed in the bag :). Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and what you get for the price paid for a starter action camera kit is pretty good value. Time will tell on how it will perform on holiday and I might attach it to my bicycle at a later date, I'll update review when back from my holiday and have tested it fully for the purpose intended

Warning: this now ships with latest firmware that makes the camera really hard to use
News: latest firmware is flawed. I think past versions of this camera have been really good (at least according to YouTube videos). But I tried it and the user interface has been changed for the worse. It is no longer possible to toggle between camera and video. When you try to repeatedly press the mode-change button, it takes you into a settings menu and then you're in a long loop inside the settings menu. The only way to get back to video/picture-taking is to find another button and cycle a tiny icon at the bottom. (Previous versions would cycle back to video in four clicks.) Clearly this is not suitable if you're out and about in an active situation wanting to shoot. So, if you intend to use the camera for both pictures and video, it's pretty unusable as it is now. (Might be fine for just video and control via the app though.) Tech support were actually really good and responsive, but, in the end, they confirmed that a) this is the latest firmware, b) that it is not possible to downgrade to the more intuitive (blue-background) software featured in many YouTube videos, and c) they are not planning a fix via a firmware update. It's a shame as I think the hardware is pretty good for the price. Maybe someone can update if this gets sorted? I now have a bit of an unusable camera and am not sure whether to go through all the hassle of refunding or whether to wait for some unlikely future update to the firmware.

Surprisingly good camera and safe down to 10m depth!
I was impressed with this little camera. I've always wanted a GoPro but their cost, for the limited occasions I would use it, was prohibitive. It is smaller than I expected, about the size of a box of matches, but that's not really a problem. The casing looks robustly engineered and obviously built for more than just getting a bit wet. The buttons are big, the screen fills the back of it and is easily visible at arms length underwater making it easy to use. The menu is relatively limited but that's no bad thing either. The box comes with a HUGE array of extra fittings and brackets for which there is a QR code for their use but suitable for fitting on ski poles, selfie poles, helmets (I think) and others which were not immediately clear. One major thing to note (and picked up by other reviews) is that you must use a high speed U1/U3 or V30 memory card, suitable for video. I tried a slower one by accident and it just doesn't work but doesn't give a reason why. Other major note is that the buttons only work if you give them a quick light press. Before I realised this, I assumed the buttons weren't working and was holding them down for half a second and pressing hard (often buttons on underwater casings need a bit of force) but not with this. A long press doesn't work at all except for the button to turn it off. I did get a little frustrated over Christmas until I realised what I was doing wrong. I wanted a camera for snorkelling in the Red Sea but previous reviews were unclear if you could do anything more than bob about on the surface. The manufacturers info does not claim to be able to dive with it but I went down to around 10m / 30 feet depth multiple times, expecting it to implode, but it worked flawlessly. There was never a hint of damp or moisture inside the casing at the end of an hours constant immersion and free diving. I used it to take stills and video. You can set how wide the photo view is (0.5x to 3x in 0.5x increments) which is handy to zoom in to the fish without scaring them. I always set up the video to record on the surface but the buttons worked fine underwater too. Although the camera in the case floats by itself, I added a floating handle as the camera is so small I'm not convinced you'd find it again if you let go and it helps get the camera closer to the action. Images and video were downloaded to my iPhone using a card reader and edited in iPhoto. There is no editing available 'in camera' as such. Some colour correction for the blue shift at depth is needed but the pictures and video are sharp and steady. Sound was also quite good, even underwater, but generally its just noise so I tend to delete it. Very happy with my purchase and the results and may try it skiing next... Video has been compressed for posting but gives an idea.
