Works Great the app was easy to setup no problems other than on my phone the app does not display the brightness setting but that is probably my cheap old pone the app worked on my pad . These are 200 selections for effects i am using 5v strip so added a 5v 10a power supply and that easily runs 5 meter lights .

Lightship controller
Bargain just buy it. High quality. Despite some bad reports I find this brilliant. Having gone through 3 of the tiny it controllers I wanted something more permanent. Works brilliantly with the magic led app on my android phone. 1 minor issue : doesn't pair up with Google home app. Who cares, apart from that works flawlessly. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Stopped connecting to Bluetooth
Worked okay and had enough modes to keep my kid happy however, 2 weeks later it will not connect to Bluetooth on multiple phones. So will need to be sent back unless I can suss out some sort of reset to get it working.

Basic controller but generally does what I need
Overall this is a decent controller that I'm very happy with. The interface is nice and simple, everything you need is on display rather than hidden in menus. My only gripes are I wish you could: A) change the Bluetooth name of the controller, to make it personal to you and make them easier to identify if you have more than 1 B) increase/ decrease the brightness of the leds as a percentage slider bar, rather than about 8 settings C) increase/ decrease the speed as a percentage, or at least have a lot more options D) Save your favourite modes, and be able to rename them once saved. For what I want it does the job, it seems to find the controller every time very quickly, connects quickly so you can start changing settings. It also remembers your last setting. I'm going to connect the psu which powers this up to a smart plug, so I can get Alexa to turn it on and off, and it'll just set the leds to my previous setting, which is perfect really. Don't expect Philips hue levels of smart, if all you want is a basic controller to do all the essentials with addressable led strip, then this should do nicely.

I initially encountered issues with this controller, but all is well now! I am using the BTF-Lighting 5VDC 20A power supply which does not maintain 5VDC under the load of a 5m LED strip. When voltage drops to 4VDC this controller will not respond. (This is likely not be a concern when using 12VDC LED strips.) I was able to work around the low voltage issue by powering the controller from a separate power source -- I happened to have a 6VDC power supply with correct polarity on the barrel connector. I disconnected the red LED strip wire from the controller VCC and connected the spare power leads from the same end of the strip to the power supply (white & green to the controller, white and red to the power supply). Using this controller with a SK6812 RGBW (natural white) LED strip, I am able to select any static color for the entire strip, including RGB white and natural white. There are also 200 light patterns from which to select the effect of chasing lights in multiple color options. The brightness and speed of the selected color or pattern can be adjusted. Under 'settings' you can specify the number of pixels you wish to have lit. I've seen it mentioned to always select 2048, but selecting more pixels than you have on the stip only causes the pattern speed to slow down.

Works great. I am powering 5v ws2812b’s with a 12v power bank using a step-down converter. The controller gets 12v power (saw other reviews that seemed to indicate 5v to the controller was unreliable) . I split the ground and positive wiring before the controller, also routing power and ground through the step-down, and a capacitor for the 5v lights. Everything works well! (Yay, bc this is my first time working with LED’s) The app works great (restart your phone after install) and it seems there are other apps available that are compatible with the sp105e controller. There seems to be a few different directions included with this product as how to send power to your lights using this controller. I tend to think some of the bad reviews are from people who didn’t have the wiring done correctly. Almost did not buy it, but happy I did. I would recommend doing it right by drawing yourself a wiring diagram and soldering all your connections.... but wtf do I know. I’m an Industrial Designer/ Fashion Designer, not an Electrical Engineer. I do know my client is going to be pumped when they receive their LED wearables project with bluetooth controls!! Adafruit and Stack Exchange are excellent resources for those playing around with LED’s.
