Crucial RAM CT2KIT102464BF160B 16 GB Kit (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1600 MHz CL11 Laptop Memory

I have an old Dell Vostro 3558 which was given to me from my workplace and due to the specs it was showing its age so i needed a quick and cheap way to upgrade my ram. Surprisingly, for its age, this laptop supports up to 16GB ram which is unheard of in a laptop of this age. i tried ram brand called qumox but, despite it being the same spec as the preinstalled memory, it was not compatible with my laptop. i had to return that one then, after researching further i found the exact spec and model of the preinstalled ram. Because, the ram is DDR3, it is really hard to find these days now with the market being dominated with DDR4 and the up and coming DDR5 memory spec. I took the plunge after doing a thorough research and found out that Crucial was the perfect upgrade. Even though this ram spec is hard to find in today's market, i managed to find it, even though it is coming from Amazon EU. After fitting the ram, it perfectly, detected the ram without too much trouble. The laptop had to restart a few times, so it can detect the new ram, and after a restart the laptop detected the ram as 16GB it was the perfect and cheap upgrade to an aging laptop. I am perfectly, happy with Crucial's quality and it worked like a dream. My laptop runs much faster now thanks to this upgrade. Will buy from Crucial again in the future. Some advice to future buyers, if you are looking to upgrade your laptop's memory make sure you buy the exact same spec as your existing memory otherwise, you will have incompatibilities with your laptop. so always make sure you buy the right ram and make sure it is the same as the one your laptop shipped with. also it is worth looking at the laptop's spec like your operating user manual or the laptop's official website as there will be plenty of documentation to help you, to make sure your ram is upgradeable.

I've been building custom PC rigs or upgrading stock PC's/laptops for myself, family, & friends for 25+ years as a DIY enthusiast. I usually purchase from Crucial directly but in this instance this RAM kit was a fair chunk cheaper on Amazon. When it comes to (SODIMM) RAM for laptops or mini PC's you really can't go far wrong with Crucial. I always shortlist their kits for comparison on performance, specs & cost with other top manufacturers. Frequently, you really have to do your homework to ensure you're choosing compatible RAM for your hardware or suffer the consequences & expense. Because Crucial have directly retailed their RAM for many years, their website has also had a built in "Advisor Tool" (compatibility checker) for years too. Literally ANYONE can easily find exactly what they need without needing to be an IT professional, DIY enthusiast, or spend endless hours researching their hardware to ensure they're choosing the right kit. (Crucial carry out extensive compatibility checks to save you the trouble). Additionally, I've only needed to return one RAM kit to Crucial out of multiple purchases over the years & I had the replacement within a couple of days. Their customer services are certainly well above par. Otherwise, I've never had a failure from their kit & some of it is still in use having been passed down, etc. I purchased this particular kit to upgrade a new Minix N42C-4 Mini PC/HTPC. It's absolutely ideal for the purpose & it gives me 4x the stock RAM (a considerable boost). My mini PC is coping with everything I'm asking of such a small system & more. As always, this Crucial kit is performing precisely as advertised. I'm very happy with it. Competitive prices & lifetime warranties backed up by their superb customer services make Crucial hard to beat. Depending on your requirements, this is a great kit that can completely transform an older laptop or mini PC, etc. Supplied in no fuss plastic packaging. Would always happily recommend Crucial. 5/5.

Installed in minutes in my ThinkPad X220 increased my WEI score a wee bit over the mismatched pair of sticks that were in my laptop when I bought it second hand. Always wanted a machine with 16GB now I have it, even with multiple copies of Visual Studio open at the same time I am not really using the extra RAM but I will be installing VMWare Workstation or one of the other Virtualisation products and that will use up the RAM (and processor) pretty quickly :) What can you say, it's RAM it works, it's fast, it's a good brand name, it should be reliable and it was a very good price, price more than anything is what makes this one for me as I trust the brand and know the quality is there.

Having read several NUC reviews, memory white papers and reviewed the Intel NUC support site for memory compatibility I realised 16GB NUC memory purchase was the complicated part and i decided on the Crucial (Micron) 16GB 1600MT/s CL11 [CT2KIT102464BF160B] and I can confirm that this works for me... Why? My NUC is UK model (you get a G plug) of Intel Core i5 4250U NUC Barebone with MB D54250WY and BIOSVersion :: INTEL - 19, released 2014.03.03. If you need / want 16GB of memory for your NUC then you might want to be aware of a few things first: 1. It turns out that memory compatibility with NUC has many considerations especially on 16GB requirements 2. I urge you to look at the intel nuc support site for latest information on bios updates / compatible ram etc 3. you need low voltage ram you must get DDR3L1.35v (note the L on the end and check you really are getting 1.35v compatible chips); the crucial chips appear to support 1.35 and 1.5v (i can't confirm 1,5 as my nuc operates 1.35v) 4. when you use 16GB (2*8GB) you are running the nuc at maximum performance as both memory slots are populated full bandwidth is utilised and this calls for memory and timings that work in harmony with the chipset of the nuc 5. it is possible to go higher than 1600MT/s; and there are review sites claiming success with G.Skill memory however this is not yet endorsed by Intel and I can only say that I stuck at 1600MT/s as the gains reported seem marginal 3-4% in most cases and for me I don't need this on a system I purchased more for the balance of power requirement Vs performance. i won't go into detail here there are plenty of review sites for NUC and other sites that describe how memory functions however for my usage it is important to get memory that works and will prolong the life of all devices as I intend to have a system up for media duties amongst other things (won't be off vary often) so for me I don't want to push the MTBF down (point 5. re:overclocking memory). I hope people looking at NUC find this useful; at this time i didn't see too many people reviewing memory compatible with a haswell nuc.

I bought the RAM to upgrade my Lenovo T540p from 4GB to 16GB. Fitting the two 8GB modules was very easy via a hatch in the base of the laptop, and there was an immediate improvement in general snappiness. However after ten weeks of daily use, one of the modules developed a fault. Routinely I opened the laptop lid to wake it from Sleep, but instead of leaping into life it rebooted and then crashed to a blue-screen crash with Stop Code: 'Memory Management'. Repeated attempts to boot the machine gave other messages, all memory related. Luckily I'd saved all open files before Sleep mode so I avoided any data loss and I've learned a bit, but system crashes are not pleasant! By elimination I found one of the two RAM modules worked ok but the other crashed every time. Happily Amazon have agreed to a refund (a full replacement was on a long lead time) and I've bought and fitted a single 8GB module as 16GB was probably overkill. So far so good. The replacement is working fine (after one day) so I'm hoping that the failed module was just a rare bad specimen.

So, trying to speed up my mid 2012 MacBook Pro - - I've got two choices, get a new one, or upgrade the two components that people say make the biggest difference. A new MacBook is biggish money, when it might not be needed, so I thought I'd give it a go + try to fit the bits myself. After getting rid every program that I didn't need or hadn't used for ages, and clearing just about everything off my desktop (this made quite a difference to restart & stability) I slotted in 16gb of Crucial ram and a 500gb Crucial SSD (a couple of screws and a SATA plug). The improvement is astounding. I could say this is like getting my MacBook back to new, but that wouldn't be right, my MacBook was never this fast as new! Restart was about 5 or 6 mins. Had a clearout - restart 2mins 20secs. Fitted Crucial bits - restart 22secs! Open a photo in (closed) CS6 in 6secs. Speed everywhere, internet, file/folder opening, running programs, shutdown, Wi-Fi connecting etc.etc. Very Pleased. Money well spent. Result.

I've just upgraded my 2012 mbp which was beginning to drag and taking longer to do simple tasks. I tried uninstalling some apps which I believe were consuming RAM and I noticed some improvement but it was obvious the RAM was being stretched to its max capacity. After researching on the web, I decided to give my old mbp a new 16GB RAM. This is probably the best investment I've made into this mbp since buying it-its now so fast and responsive and even better than when I first bought it. I wish I had done this upgrade much sooner than now-there was no need to put up with a slow mbp. The installation was very straightforward-watched a few videos on youtube which helped. Looks like I will be keeping this machine for a few more years.

Typical good quality you'd expect from Crucial with the correct rated speed detected in bios. Works well with the device chosen despite not being listed for compatibility. Great value at this price. Used this to upgrade a passive ITX machine but is certainly suitable for laptop upgrade too.

Produto original, novo, chegou em perfeito estado, demorou um pouco, achei que não chegaria, mas valeu a espera, foi apenas instalar e reconheceu os dois pentes. Na primeira instalação pode demorar um pouco para a placa reconhecer, importante aguardar um pouco, pode ser 5 minutos até, antes de achar que não deu certo. Depois funciona normalmente.
