Walker's Shortbread Glenfiddich Highland Whisky Cake – Traditional Scottish Fruit Cake, 400 g

This is the nicest rich fruit and marzipan cake on the market. It is plentiful in fruit and a lovely generous topping of marzipan and just a very thin layer of icing which is perfect . It cuts down beautifully . It is worth paying a bit more to get the excellent quality and the perfect texture.

Very nice indeed. I'd compare it to homemade for sure. The marzipan and icing is generous too which I like. It's expensive but this is not an everyday thing. In my case I thought I'd treat myself to it for my birthday lol - thought I'd have a bit of cake for myself and I do enjoy fruit cakes. This isn't too rich at all either. Which is how I prefer it. Plenty of fruit and it's got a decent moisture to it. Only slight criticism perhaps, is its a bit more crumbly than absolutely ideal, but that's a very minor thing. The product tastes really nice and that's what counts. So if you thinking of buying, go for it. I'd say the price is worth it for the quality you get. And for one person this should last several slices as you don't need loads of this anyway. It is like any fruit cake quite rich afterall.

The cake arrived from Amazon as predicted and in very good condition, with some other gifts which I had bought for my husband's birthday. It looked very small - 400g is less than 1lb in weight. It was very very crumbly on cutting - we had broken pieces instead of slices. The flavour was outstanding - the cake was very moist and full of fruit. The whisky flavour was not overpowering. Due to its size, I thought the cake was over-priced, but worth it for a special occasion. It would be a better product if the crumbliness was sorted out.

I was planning on buying the smaller version as part of a Christmas present until I saw just how small it actually is in person. I bought the tin as a lightning deal (£9.99) and it was well worth it. The recipient loved it, as did the rest of the family, although I'm not sure if I would have bought it at full price. Lovely fruity flavour and not too dry or too strong a hint of whiskey (you can taste it). The tin was a nice addition, although it was a little dented on arrival (wasn't really an issue). All in all nice cake and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Not very different from the run-of-the-mill quality fruit cakes you’d see on a supermarket shelf, but obviously made with better ingredients. The small cake and the big price emphasise this is a luxury only to be indulged on high days and holidays. As for the whisky? I certainly couldn’t taste any hint of Glenfiddich, but I’m sure it’s hiding among the fruit and nuts somewhere.

I’m the only one in the house that likes Xmas cake but don’t buy or make one for myself, but I usually get a gift from our oldest son who’s a chef but didn’t this year or last Xmas . I started to crave a piece of Xmas cake but couldn’t find one anywhere , then I found a walkers one on Amazon and this is one of the nice ones. Mmmmmm

I ordered two of these cakes as I really enjoy Walker's Shortbread. The cake is just on another level though. Really tasty cake, a generous slab of marzip and then some icing on top of that. I think that this is rich fruit cake perfection. Mine arrived somewhat battered so could do with better packaging. These aren't going to last long so I ordered two more.

Wonderful, moist and dense with fruit. It's extremely rich in flavor with barely a hint of single malt. Not as sweet as cheaper fruit cakes. It is definitely a premium fruit cake, and I would order it again. I really liked it.

Nota: el whisky cake no es grande, el tamaño real se muestra en la foto. El producto llegó muy bien empacado. Al tacto se siente bastante suave, el pastelito se encuentra bastante fresco, tomando en cuenta que no es temporada. Lo probaré y actualizaré mi reseña para emitir mi opinión. Actualización: esta brutal!!!! Tiene un sabor formidable ! Notarás de inmediato las notas del whiskey. Me pareció extremadamente delicioso, su consistencia es muy suave. No está seco y realmente disfrutas el whiskey en tu paladar. El cake tiene muchas pasitas . Si no te gustan, este postre no será de tu agrado. Realmente lo recomiendo!!! Lo amé.

I have always liked fruitcake. For the past few years i have been buying fruitcakes as presents for myself on my Birthday and at Christmas. I like trying ‘new to me’ brands and varietys. I was pleased to find theur are so many varieties. This item was a big hit, which I’ll repeat as a purchase next year. The shortbread texture was unique and took me a bit to get into. I’m hooked now. The recipe is top notch. Being soaked in high quality whiskey took it way over the top. If you like new tastes, unique quality ingredients & flavorings, and prefer a dark fruitcake, then you’ll like this one.
