The best hand, vegetable peeler in the world by far
The best hand, vegetable peeler in the world by far!Always looking for the best quality products, I asked my elderly mother which potato peeler she used and why. She then walked over to her cutlery draw and pulled out this little unassuming product. She then relayed a story of taking a trip to Black-bush market in Berkshire UK back in the early 1970’s and saw a man demonstrating this very same product to peel all sorts of vegetables. She then said that the one in her hand was the very same one. That’s over 40 years ago! (At the time of writing this review)Now that doesn’t sound that fantastic until you realise my mother has been preparing three or more meals per day, every day, for all of that time. Always using the peeler and catering for her family of four children and husband. That’s somewhere in the region of around 44,000 preparations and this product is still going strong. Not only that! It has stayed sharp this whole time. The bottom blade has become thin but it still peels just as it did the first day she bought it.For me, the definition of a great product is its durability over time and this one gets top marks and really proves it worth. Talking of worth, she paid £1 over forty years ago and you can now buy it for around just £2 or less today! Talk about value!

These work like a charm
These peelers are game changers. They peel carrots, potatoes, swede, parsnip with ease. Much better than using a knife. Would definitely recommend.

A beast in the kitchen for the wife!!!
Well all my life I’ve been searching for that right peeler, and now that I have this little guy in my life and in my hand it just feels like it’s meant to be.I arise from my bed in great joy everyday ready for a day of peeling. It’s a pure “BEAST” and soars was though the spuds,Also it’s pleasured the wife in the kitchen as she’s never flown through the veggies quicker, which saves her countless hours to get on with the laundry,Lastly makes the perfect gift for that special one, just like my wife was thrilled to get it for Valentines Day, When all said and done (all though it may be slightly overpriced) it and ANIMAL in the kitchen and is all round spectacular

Great value - Good quality but not great
This arrived today so I can't comment on rust yet but can comment generally on quality. We had the black and silver Jamie Oliver potato peeler till now so that is my benchmark, a much more expensive peeler. My impression is that this peeler is fantastic value but it's not at all as great as has been suggested. It is good and does the job but my JO peeler was sharper and quicker to use. I took a look and one difference I noticed was that the gap is bigger allowing the peels to fall away easier. It also has two blades (top and bottom) whereas this one has one.One other comment on this is that the picture shows an all silver design but the blade is actually black. So my advice is don't believe that because it has such good reviews that it's because of quality, it's because of value. Another advantage is that it takes up no space in the drawer. I'll update later about how it does with rust.

Razor Sharp!
This peel is razor sharp, and does a fantastic job.Caution though. This is how I use it. Wear kitchen gloves to protect your left hand (if you are right-handed). I tend to be careless, and can cut myself. And since this peel is razor sharp, I am even more careful, peeling slowly. With longer items like carrots, better start with the middle, then there is less chance cutting your own finger at the end of the long peel. But see the quality of the carrot peels. Very thin. And look at the potato peels. Since I used red potatoes, they show that the peels are thin, meaning you get more to eat :)As for the little hook on the peeler, it digs deep (see photos), and it is always quite sharp (see the photo with the long groove that I careless made by applying too much force). So just use with caution.I suspect this is also the exact same item sold by Victorinox, except that under the name of Rex, it is much cheaper. All in all, price and utility considered, I am very happy with this peeler. Just always bear in mind that it is razor sharp, and be careful.

Poor quality garbage
I bought this as a replacement for my old star peeler, which had gone missing. If this is a swiss made peeler, then the swiss have certainly let their standards slip. It's cheap crap. The blade is made from poor steel and struggled to peel a carrot. My daughter had it slip when she used it and it cut her finger. Honestly, do yourself a favour and go chuck your money into the nearest river - it'll be better value. Thankfully my star peeler turned up in the drawer below the cutlery draw and I can now heave this into the wheelie bin. You'd be better off scraping the carrots on the render on the outside of your house or dragging them down the road behind your car for a mile or 2.

Easy to use and it's okay
The product is comfortable and easy to use. However the peeler did rust quite easily but that may have been more my fault that the products.
