JB Plastic weld but is not a complete solution as it will work loose eventually. I do not know a glue for this combination. The connection must depend on the basic design, not a glue.

I have a crack in the rear moulding of a caravan. It is subject to vibration and bouncing when being towed. Will this be suitable?

This is the best glue i have used on plastic. I have used it to repair some parts of a machine and this give out a high degree of vibration. These repairs were to be temporary but they are still holding after several months. Give the glue time to set (24 hours), before you place to much stress on the repair. Hope this was helpful. If it helps my father used it to fix a crack in his oil tank so I don't see why you couldn't use it on a roof box.
