Great for Google OS flex
Bought this to try to fix the 'bad password' issue on a tablet that I've tried to repurpose with Google flex. Plugged it in and it immediately connected and works fine. Cheap, good value, not the latest in tech but great when stopping a tablet going to landfill.

Falsely Advertised
Not RT5370 as advertised so not the correct chipset. Given the price it's no great loss, but its very frustrating and disappointing.

Very good with Access Point mode
Setting this in WiFi extender mode in my experience, didnt work very well. Intially i was very dissapointed, but when i reset the device and set it up in Access Point mode it worked perfectly. I have a ethernet hub located uptairs far from the router, i connected this device to my hub using an ethernet cable and now i am very satisfied with this purchase.

What sorcery is this?!!
Trying to breathe life into a 15-year-old laptop using Google Flex OS which loaded fine but was not compatible with the Wi-Fi chipset inside the laptop. Managed to get the Wi-Fi working by tethering to my phone but how messy is that right? Did some research and this is one of the major shortcomings of the Google Flex OS. However, it does appear that any Wi-Fi dongle with the 'ralink rt5370' chipset will in fact work and blow me down so it did! Transfer speeds aren't great, but absolutely fine for what's needed. Also who doesn't want a retro aerial sticking out of a 15-year-old laptop!!

Works perfectly with the Raspberry Pi
Works out of the box with a Raspberry Pi (on Raspberry Pi OS). lsusb output: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter relevant lsmod output: rt2800usb 28672 0 rt2800lib 126976 1 rt2800usb rt2x00usb 24576 1 rt2800usb rt2x00lib 61440 3 rt2800lib,rt2800usb,rt2x00usb mac80211 831488 3 rt2800lib,rt2x00lib,rt2x00usb Didn't need to mess around with kernel modules/third party drivers. Just needed to tell the Raspberry Pi the SSID/PSK and it's good to go. The extended antenna also means it's able to connect to weak/distant wifi

Did not help signal strength for Brennan B3
I bought this to try to improve signal strength on a Brennan B3 . The advice was "In some situations it may be necessary to replace the standard dongle with an RT5370 type (the chip-set used in the dongle) with a built-in antenna" . It didn't work. I have given this 3 stars because it may just be the wrong bit of kit for the problem.

Guter WLAN-Dongle – stabile Verbindung bei einfacher Installation
Der Dongle wurde sofort erkannt und musste unter Windows (auch Linux/Raspberry Pi) nicht manuell eingerichtet werden. Die Verbindung war stabil und die Übertragungsrate im 2,4 GHz‑Netz ausreichend (bis 150 Mbit/s). Ideal für einfache WLAN-Verbindung bei älteren Geräten. Klare Empfehlung!
