very nice
Another super little hutch for a chicken. The hens have a proper henhouse, but they do like sleeping in the bunny house we got as an emergency shelter one winter - and one of them has now chosen the cat carry box as a bed, which is very plastic and ugly. Two best friend Bantams can snuggle together in this size box overnight or one broody hen can sit in here and growl at invaders. This box took all of 10 minutes to assemble. I purposely left the roof removable. They do have a strong smell of wood stain when new, so it will stand outside for a day or two before letting the birds in.There are no plastic ends on the legs. The floor of these boxes goes in easily if you drop them down at an angle first. In addition I have now fastened the roof hinges on - very easy to do if you put the box upside down on its roof to line the hinges up.And I unscrewed the door as it would soon be a rotten ramp. And I did the same with the old box, and I see that this new box, apart from its lack of plastic leg ends, is considerably sturdier and altogether better quality and will probably stand up to the weather better.

Good value.
Bought this to house our Silkie rooster during the summer. Itโs the perfect size to pop him into at night so he doesnโt wake us (or the neighbours) with his crowing. Itโs then nice and easy to move it into the garage and keep him safe.It was reasonably easy to put together if youโve done this sort of thing before but was made a bit fiddly by not having pre drilled holes on all the pieces. It does have a resin smell and what looks like resin bits on the wood. I gave it a bit of a wipe to get rid of the resin and the smell seems to have gone (that might be because of the chicken sleeping in it).

Great shelter for outdoor cats!
Great product. I bought two of these cabins over 10 years ago. They lasted well outdoors, providing shelter in all weathers for stray and feral cats. This latest one is for an abandoned cat that comes here every day for food. The hutch is easy to assemble, even for an elderly and disabled person like myself. The slatted floor allows underfloor ventilation, but this can be covered over if not required. I've placed cardboard and a cat blanket over the floor which inhibits draughts from underneath, but still allows the blanket to get aired.Since it's for a cat, I've removed the drop-down front ramp to make it more difficult for certain garden pests to get into the cabin. I've placed the cabin on top of an outdoor table, and against a shed. This lifts the cabin 70cm (28") above the ground, which the cat prefers. For the price, this is a very good cabin / hutch.

Nice but my cat is not a fan!
I bought this for my cat, even though it's aimed at rabbits and guinea pigs. The cat will stand at the patio door waiting to get in and sometimes if she goes out late at night she has got locked out for the night! I thought a little kennel/shelter would be good so if she was stuck outside at least she has somewhere dry to go.Well, she won't go near it unfortunately! It's big enough for her and I can't fault the construction; it was easy to put together and has sat outside for 3 months now looking as good as new. The cat just will not go in to it! There is just about room in it for her to turn around but maybe it's a bit small for her liking. It smelled strongly at first of whatever stain/coating was used which probably didn't help. It is big enough to fit an igloo style cat bed which I'd put in for extra heat/insulation but still no luck. Once I put catnip in it which she loved for 5 mins and she hasn't returned to it since! I am going to try a different bed in it and some pheromone spray and of those don't work then it will be going on Gumtree! I'm sure it's brilliant for rabbits, guinea pigs and less fussy cats, just not for mine!ETA: Forgot to add, one day in extremely bad, very windy weather the roof blew open. It didn't break the hinge or anything but just shows the lid is light enough to be blown open. I now have a patio slab on top to keep it weighed shut!ETA: In around May I realised that a stray tom cat has started using this little house which is still in my back garden! It still has the igloo bed inside it and I tried to insulate the house a bit with some polystyrene sheets. He sleeps in it on cold nights, it's now Sept. and I saw him curled up in it last night. So my cat was obviously just being a fussy madam. I'm glad the stray kitty is getting use out of it!ETA: It is now over 18 months since I purchased this little house, and the stray cat still uses it regularly. House is in great condition still, no issues with it, the stray seems to like his residence in my garden! I have attached a photo from a cold night a few months back, when I'd stuck a hot water bottle in the house for him.

A lovely little kennel for the price & suitable for Cat's!
A really smart little kennel of which I'm very pleased we bought. To answer a frequently mentioned question - and one we asked, it will definitely fit an average size cat as it does ours. Our cat had been using a fabric house we placed in the greenhouse but that was getting a little old and overrun by the ivy (to cold to be out there trimming it down). As it was coming up to Christmas we thought we'd buy him a nice new house and my wife spotted this.We received it quickly but it is in a decent size package so not suitable for locker delivery (which is a godsend I will add!) but luckily my wife was at home that day. I got prepped to assemble it expecting a bit of a nightmare but quite the contrary I had it assembled within about 20 minutes. Its put together with 8 nuts/bolts & a few screws for the top opening roof hinge. Once assembled I added the Ancol - Self Heating Pet Pad Cat/Dog Bed - Medium that I had bought with this inside. the pad is a little big length wise but if you bunch it up at the back slightly it fits fine and will likely only serve to make it even more snug!Kept this inside a few days with some treats in to get the cat acquainted with it (he's a strange one) and put it outside after apx 3 days. All i can say is he loves it. Whenever I look outside he is sat inside it and will often go outside and straight in there! We feel much better leaving him out for longer periods in the winter now when we go to work or out for the day.Sturdy construction, pre weather treated and leakproof (so far).If you have a cat then get them this kennel. For the price I paid at the time (ยฃ35 inc shipping) it's well worth it.

It's ok
I suppose it's ok for the price, the bracket at the bottom was missing which was a problem as the bottom shelf just kept falling out, but found a piece of wood and screwed it on myself. Also lots of gaps at bottom, but taped it is with waterproof tape as to not let in the cold. Was easy to put together although the lid may need an extra pair of hands, I wedged mine on a chair to screw the brackets in place.

Love it and so do the bunnies
This little house is fantastic quality and my bunnies love it. Unfortunately they do not use it as it is supposed to be used as they sit on the roof and remove one of the sections of the flooring on the inside so that they can run in the door, through the floor and out through the bottom (after digging up my garden some to get enough of a hole to fit through). But they use it all the time and it has saved them lots of boredom so I am chuffed. It is a great size and will fit 2 large (5kg lion head x lop) in easily with plenty of moving space. The lid lifts up too (on hinges) so it is easy to clean and take the bunnies out. If is waterproof too so they can stay out in their run and stay dry even on wet and windy days. It has saved me a lot of stress and worry when I am at work and they are out in the rain.
