Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved Peanuts Gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Charlie Brown, the world’s most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the Ice Age films, The Peanuts Movie will prove that every underdog has his day. Review: A boy named Charlie Brown - Classic cartoon strip Peanuts had four animated movies and quite a few tv specials in the past. Now it returns with an all new feature film version, in a modern animation style. The plotting is as before. Charlie Brown can't succeed at anything. No matter how hard he tries. But smitten with new classmate, the little Red Haired girl, he's determined to change and become a winner. Meantime, Snoopy tells us the story of the daring World War one flying ace having to fight the Red Baron in order to win the love of his life. Peanuts hasn't had much of a media presence in a while. The last film being decades ago. And the tv specials, once a perennial of the children's programming on the bbc haven't been seen here in a long time. But what a feature film version of an old favourite needs to do in order to succeed is to recapture what made the original work in the first place. And in that respect, this is a complete and utter success. The animation may be modern, but it's really quite eye catching and it does somehow manage to update the original style and yet keep it just right at the same time. It's clever animation as well, adding in lots of little bits in different styles when the movie requires. The plot may be nothing Peanuts hasn't done before, but it does it right. The characterisation is spot on. The voices are just right. The attention to detail with those is such that Snoopy and Woodstock's voices are archive clips of the Late Bill Melendez, who did them back in the day. And the script, written by Peanuts creator Charles Schulz's son, is perfect Peanuts. There's even a good judicious use of original Peanuts music. And a nice homage to the tv special 'A Charlie Brown Christmas.' The humour, as you would expect, is pretty gentle. But it's great character comedy with it, and laugh out loud in more than a few spots. It is slightly overlong, though, and probably could have trimmed a few minutes of the flying ace subplot. But that's only a minor complaint. Because this is Peanuts as it should be, but up to date at the same time. And with one of the most beautiful final shots you will ever see, it will bring back happy memories to those who grew up on Peanuts. And hopefully capture a whole new generation of fans as well. Keep watching during the end credits for a couple of extra - and very good - scenes during the first half of them. And there's a fun little one as well right at the very end of them. The dvd has the following language and subtitle options: Languages: English. Subtitles: English. It begins with an anti dvd piracy ad that you can't skip. And then a two minute long cartoon that acts as a preview for the latest Ice Age movie. This is the same one that played before this movie in the cinema. It can be skipped via the next button on the dvd remote. And it's in the extras section of the dvd anyhow. The main menu plays the classic bit of Jazz 'Linus and Lucy' by Vince Guaraldi. So it's quite enjoyable to just leave it on whilst doing other things in order to just hear that. Extras are: Snoopy snippets: six short scenes, running no more than a couple of minutes, featuring Snoopy. And Charlie Brown. Who has one to himself. All are fun. And new. And can be watched individually or all in a row. How to draw: Snoopy/Woodstock/Charlie Brown. Three short tutorials from the film's director on how to draw the character in question. All no more than three minutes long. 'Get Down with Snoopy and Woodstock' a music video featuring the Peanuts characters, using film clips and original footage. This remixes Linus and Lucy, but just about gets away with it. It does feature flashing images. Meghan Trainor's song 'Better when I'm dancin'' that features in the film, is here with a lyrics version that gives you them to sing along to, coupled with images of the character. Plus the actual pop video for it. And a behind the scenes look at the making of the latter. Snoopy's playlist takes you into individual sections of the movie itself where bits of music feature. There's almost a dozen of these moments. You can go through them individually or all in a row. Some are short. Some are several minutes long. There's a section of galleries, giving concept art, colour keys, character designs and final art. And five different cinema trailers for the film. Two full length ones and three teaser ones. Review: Old ideas and new cartoons - Great package including the old and new Charlie Brown movies. Personally I never liked them, but toddler loved them - both !

Very Lovable Film
Charlie Brown, Sally, Lucy, Linus and the rest of his friends (not forgetting "our" lovable characters: Snoopy & Woodstock) After the past classic movie/TV special/tv show, now in CGI Charlie Brown is trying so hard to win The Little Red Hair Gril but everything this happened thing get wrost due of his clumsiness however his Royal and most of the time troublesome dog snoopy to back him up for his help "man best dog indeed" :D Snoopy always dreaming big of being the ace pilot of WWI and defeat the infamous Red Baron and rescue Fifi BlueSky Studio & Fox done an excellent job with the characters & location design, voices, artwork and a other Even this is film contain no matery likely to offend or harm Once it will show on Sky Movies (Sky Cinema) premier it will only contain flashing images, also this film is really hilarious

Enough to melt the hearts of young and old
Not since the 1970's have gotten that ''old time'' Peanuts feeling, as with The Great Pumpkin and Christmas specials. But this new movie is a perfect updated version of the old series, without all the cheesiness and poor voices actors of the 80's 90's and beyond. The graphics are first-class, yet have all the charm of the originals. Just loved this movie and hope there are more to come

Superb
I am a life-long fan of Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang and I was worried that this film wouldn't respect their history or memory but it does - and wonderfully so. My son, who loves the comic strip as much as I do, was equally entranced. Superbly done, very funny, poignant and memorable, this is a great movie.

I grew up watching Charlie Brown on the old tv screens. This movie has all the characters in it, Red Barron, the Red Head girl, etc. Great movie! I really enjoyed it.

This movie stayed true to the traditional Peanuts comics...it's wholesome entertainment. Please note I wrote ENTERTAINMENT... it is fun yo watch not preachy or sicky sweet. I bought this for my step dad who has always loved Peanuts and we both enjoyed it. The cute little Snoopy plush is good quality and looks like the picture. The movie is everything you expect from Peanuts and nothing that you don't. I believe Charles Schultz would approve. Kids of all ages can relate to this. We all have Charlie Brown moments that sometimes feel like our entire life instead of a moment. Even if you've watched a single Peanuts special or read the comic strip I'm sure you could enjoy this...but what planet do you live to have never watched a Peanuts special or read the strip? Good for young and old alike. The whole family really can watch this together and enjoy it!

Love this movie! A great tribute to the classic Peanuts animated films and the comic strips. I love the fact that they decided to not force the gang into the modern world; children still played outside with friends, and not a cell phone in sight! The 3D renderings worked well to keep younger viewers interested, but animation styles still mimicked the 6-7 actual positions the characters were drawn in to appease even the oldest fans. Snoopy still is amazing, and it's wonderful to see them incorporate nods to his "runaway fiancee" Fifi from the strips into a unique story with the Red Baron. Overall, it's a new interpretation of the classics and well worth the time of fans old and new.

I was excited to see that there was a boxed set with a plush Snoopy Toy, as my wife collects snoopy items. Upon receiving it, however, we were shocked by how ugly the toy was. It looks like a cheap toy out of a happy meal. We weren't looking for anything spectacular, just something that looked a little more snoopy like. Not a big problem - we enjoyed the movie and the DVD+Blu Ray+Digital HD combo is a great deal!

I ordered this movie set without even owning a blueray player. My wife simply wanted the snoopy plush for our son. To our surprise the movie set came with a dad version of the movie so everyone was happy. The plush is a little smaller than what we were expecting and it's not really a plush doll more like a bean bag doll. The movie is amazing only if you are a peanuts fan other than that it's mainly for little kids. The little red haired girl finally speaks!!!
