I cannot exaggerate how impressed i am with this tool. Even after 2 years use. You will not be disappointed.
This is an absolutely fantastic tool! An absolute must have for the DIY mechanic! Of all the tools I've bought over the years this is without doubt the best. It's saved endless frustration and allowed me to take on jobs i wouldn't have dared attempt without it. The amount of bolts and nuts that were rounded or snapped from trying to use spanners and wrenches doesn't bear thinking about knowing it could have all been avoided with this wonderful tool. If you fix or preform maintenance on your own car or motorcycle, particularly if the vehicle is over a decade old, you will most likely be all too familiar with the frustration you get when you start taking something apart then have to stop because of a seized bolt. And if you try and force these bolts off it can often lead to much bigger problems! The final straw for me was when i tired to take the rear sprocket off my motorbike in order to replace it's chain and sprockets. Everything had been going smoothly and to plan, i was enjoying working on the bike, then sure enough, when i tried to undo the bolts that held the rear sprocket to the back wheel they were stuck. Totally stuck. I tried freeing sprays, tapping the stud heads with a hammer to loosen any corrosion that might be holding it, tapping the spanner to act like an impact wrench, then when i applied maximum force to remove one of the 8 bolts, it simply rounded. I Was furious. Something that should have taken an hour was now going to take days several hours because i'd need to take the wheel to a garage to get the mechanic to take the nuts off. I decided it was time to take action!I came across this on amazon, was familiar with Clarke tools and knew them to be pretty good, so i went for it and bought it. I wasn't sure if it would work because the nuts were already rounded, so i didn't think the impact wrench would be able to get a good enough hold on the nuts and they were totally seized. I placed it on, pulled the trigger and off it came. No problem, no fuss, they all came off with ease. I could not believe it. I had been struggling for all those years for no reason. I've been using this regularly for the last 2 years and it's absolutely fantastic. The unit itself is very sturdily made, feels strong and heavy and like it will last for years. It comes with a spare set of brushes which is a bonus, and it that tells you they expect the brushes to wear out before anything breaks. The sockets it comes with are very good quality, and it has the sizes you're most likely to need, but i bought more as i knew i'd be using it a lot. I've basically rebuilt one of my motorcycles with it and done all sorts of odd jobs on the other with it. Brilliant piece of kit.I cannot exaggerate how impressed i am with this tool. I won't think twice about buying a Clarke tool again and this particular one gets a solid well deserved 5 out of 5 from me. If you're fed up with seized bolts don't think twice about buying this.

240 v impact wrench.
New Clarke CEW1000 Electric Impact Wrench 240vThis wrench is,in my opinion, the dogs whatsits. It does the job superbly well. The wrench looks and feels expensively made but heavy. Its supplied in a good case with 4 impact sockets and even spare motor brushes. The unit performs as well as an air operated version, removing wheel nuts just as fast.Using the unit is a bit heavy but the trigger is well positioned and easy to use.The only disadvantage is no speed adjustment. This is useful when tightning wheelnuts initially before the wheels are on the ground.I used a 12v type that connects to your car battery before I bought the Clarke, but the operation was horrible and although it did the job it was slow and scary, try one and you`ll see what I mean.I already own a air operated wrench but its too much trouble to set up the compressor just to undo w/nuts.I also own a 19v Taskmaster wrench but its just not powerful enough to undo fully tightened wheel nuts,so the Clarke unit is an ideal compromise between the battery and air operated versions. If you are a motor mechanic and work on cars at home or a car enthusiast, then the clarke is exceptional value for money. The wrench is not much more than the 12v car battery type but less than half the price of the others available. If you need a reasonably priced electric wrench then buy this one.

An excellent impact wrench with a selection of the most useful sockets included
A very good impact wrench, well worth the money. I've built up a good collection of tools over the years and never considered an impact wrench before. However after using this I can see this will be one of the main tools I use when working on vehicles. Changed the shock absorbers on my car with this with a friend who has an expensive impact wrench costing 6 times the price, he was amazed how good this tool was considering it was so much cheaper than his. Undid tight bolts with ease. And comes with the most useful socket sizes, in a good quality carry case. Ensure you use impact sockets as there's a chance that ordinary sockets can shatter. I'd recommend buying the Sealey Impact adaptor and extension set to go with this which Amazon also sell. The only issue with the wrench is the black plastic collar on the front keeps slipping off during use and seems pointless, but that's no real hinderance. So a great impact wrench ideal for the occasional user.

It’s not small and it’s unwieldy.....but for the price it’s very very good.
I dropped one star only because it’s electric and quite large but don’t let that put you off. If you can manoeuvre it correctly it deserves praise. It’s gets wheel nuts off easily no problem. The real problem was removing the front suspension. Two lower bolts and one nut and bolt both seemed to be seized. Because of the small space I was working in I didn’t feel the impact wrench could get in there. I used a normal socket wrench and a hammer to try and break the grip. Neither would move. Eventually I found space to use the impact wrench and after a while (about 20 seconds stop start) the nut came loose off the bolt. The bolt still needed the impact wrench and a hammer as it had seized in the strut. The two lower bolts were a little easier (about 15 seconds stop start) but they came loose. For the price this is an excellent piece of kit and helped me with what could’ve been a very difficult job.
