Decent Battery Life but Overheating Issues
I purchased the DEWALT DCB184 5Ah 18V XR Li-Ion Battery to power my DEWALT tools, expecting long-lasting performance, but my experience has been mixed.On the positive side, the battery provides decent runtime, especially for light to moderate tasks. It works well with my drill and impact driver, and I can get through several hours of work without needing to recharge. The charging time is also reasonable, and the battery fits securely into my tools without any wobble.However, the battery overheats during prolonged or heavy-duty use. When using it with my angle grinder or circular saw, it quickly became hot to the touch and even triggered the overheating protection, forcing me to stop mid-task. This is frustrating, especially when working on larger projects that require sustained power.For the price, I expected better durability under strain. It’s suitable for lighter tasks, but if you need a battery for intensive use, this one might not hold up. I’d recommend it for DIY or occasional work, but professionals may want to consider a higher-capacity or more robust option to avoid interruptions.
