Not a workaround, that’s how Americano is made. **Q: will you be getting anymore machines in ?** A: One is fine for me but it depends ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great upgrade to the original *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 29 July 2026* As I was packing for my camping trip I discovered that I was missing bits from my original wacaco coffee maker, I looked at buying replacements for the bits I was missing but that would have ended up costing me almost as much as a new one so I decided on upgrading to this model.It's a bit smaller and actually feels more solid and premium. For me personally it's excellent value as there is no way I can camp without my coffee and being compatible with my Nespresso pods means it's super simple and mess free. It's really light so great for packing, my old one I would take to the office every so often and this one is even smaller so will be even easier. Also can take it on hikes (with a thermos of hot water) for coffee on the go.The water tank in this one is simply the main unit, so pour in the boiling water and screw on lid. This is a massive upgrade to the previous one where the water tank was separate and you really had to be precise about getting it on or you ended up getting boiling water on your hands. So actually I am really pleased I lost bits to my old one. Also this one being pretty much altogether there is less chance that I will misplace bits.To brew it's super simple, pop your pod in the holder screw on the bottom bit, fill with boiling water, close lid, turn the manual pump to release it so it pops out then pump, it quickly gets to pressure then you continue squeezing until the water has run out, it's easy to tell when, coffee is brewed perfectly complete with creme.I have used it with Nespresso and compatible pods with no issues both work well. This particular one is for Nespresso classic pods only, if you want to use ground coffee you need to pick a different model.I much prefer this to my rechargable one. It's so much more portable and you don't have to worry about charging it you just need the ability to boil water or bring a thermos of pre boiled water with you.It's a must have for my camping trips. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fluffing great coffee *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 November 2025* Had a bad experience with one of these machines only to realise you don’t go at like a bull in a china shop. If you had flabby arms before you won’t after. I tried the heat the unit and cup method and with a dash of hot water left in the cup. Makes the best and smoothest crema going .i am a coffee snob since I was 10 I’m 55 nowI can take this out with me have great coffee and tone my arms at the same time . So glad I bought the device . I love coffee and making Moka at home and nespresso in the office. In general I don't like coffee shop espresso (which I drink). I don't put milk so acidic single origin coffee at fancy coffee shops doesn't appeal to me. I also don't want to be spending 3 pounds for coffee chain coffee.I have been eyeing a portable nespresso machine for the last two years. I was between this or one that is also heating the water and has a mechanised pump.I recently started a new position that at the kitchen I can't plug a machine. So I couldn't bring my nespresso machine. But there is a boiling water smart tap.
