Vacu Vin Original Wine Saver Pump – with 2 Vacuum Wine Stoppers – Wine Bottle Stopper and Wine Preserver for Red or White Wine – Black

The product itself is great. This was purchased as a present however I received the white instead of black vac u vin in a gift set. This was advertised as £3.97 less than the black unit. There is no option to be refunded the difference in price and it is too late to return as my friend’s birthday is tomorrow. I will have to give her the white unit however feel quite cross with Amazon over the error. As previously stated the product itself is great and I already own one.

The vacuum pump received from Gadget Den is a cheap Chinese imitation, not a Vacu Vin. It does not have the Vacu Vin logo in raised letters on the handle. The edges are rough and sharp, it doesn’t click and is difficult to pump. The stoppers do not match the image and are less flexible than my old Vacu Vin stoppers. Got a full refund (price + postage) after a struggle, but doesn’t cover the inconvenience.

Unfortunately both bungs do not make effective seal - morning like the quality of an original wine saver . the rubber is much harder , and the slit which is meant to let the air out (via the pump) but not let any air back in is roughly cut into the top and doesn’t make the required air tight seal . Returning as defective for a full refund .

There are already some excellent reviews on this item, but I hope these comments are still of use following the purchase of this kit based on a personal recommendation. Kits contents: The standard kit (as at May 2014) includes two vacuum stoppers and a pump handle. The stoppers slip easily into standard bottles, but still create a good seal. They are absolutely fine in the dishwasher. Ease of use: Well designed items work easily and that applies here. The pump is placed on top on the stopper and pulled up and down a number of times to create a vacuum - the less wine there is in the bottle the more you have to pump. The pump makes a discreet clicking noise when sufficient vacuum has been created. To release the vaccum just takes the pressure from one finger on the stopper to release the seal and you are ready to enjoy another glass or two. Length of time it will save wine for: There seems to be quite a bit of disagreement in the reviews on this. I suspect this is down to different wines reacting differently as well as to personal tastes. We have found that it keeps red wine well for up to a few days, but would not really go beyond that. Overall: There are an awful lot of kitchen fad tools out there and I was sceptical this might be another one of those. I could not have been more wrong - it works well, is simple to use, it is well made, and helps avoid waste: a true kitchen 'must have'! Thoroughly recommended.

Good and easy to use, keeps wine fresh for longer once bottle is opened.

All we needed was extra stoppers but couldn't find anything other than the new-style ones. As we didn't know if these would work with our old-style Vacuvin we bought this gift pack which, according to the photo, included 2 of the old-style stoppers. In fact they are NOT the old-style ones as pictured, they are the new kind. They appear to work just as well and are compatibile with our old pump but it's a bit annoying that we could have simply bought a pair of stoppers instead of wasting money on an extra pump which was not needed. Only rated 3 stars because of the misleading photo.

Probably OK for 2 or 3 days but then so is a cork plus fridge! After a week I tested the Vacu Vin wine vs. a bottle of the same wine which had been open for an hour and I could tell the difference and so could my partner.

Sometimes we come across bad design, in all sorts of things, eg a 'waffle' material shower curtain which is not watertight, or metal dish holders that deposit rust on your plates and cutlery, or a guitar stand that scratches the finish on your new guitar, etc etc. But this item I have to say is an example of GOOD design, this is really a great item, it deserves an award. The stoppers are curved so they fit different sized bottle necks, and they dismantle so they can be cleaned easily. The vacuum pump is powerful and easy to use, just around 8 up-down strokes are needed, then the best bit - the CLICK - it indicates when a vacuum has been reached, so you don't have to just guess. (And with this you can also check a couple of days later whether there's still a vacuum). When opening the bottle again, you just push a little tab on the stopper to the side, and you then hear the air rushing in, and the stopper just comes out easily, ie you don't have to pull it out by force against the vacuum. The seperate stopper and pump, and availability of additional stoppers, means you can preserve several opened bottles at once, with only one pump needed. How good is that? This is smart design, and great for those who like a moderate drink of wine, eg a single glass in a day, rather than a whole bottle. Totally brilliant, best thing ever.

Ottimo, a distanza di mesi funziona ancora perfettamente, la gomma rimane morbida e i tappi mantengono il vuoto per giorni. Perfetto per vino fermo. Facilissimo da usare, si inserisce il tappo nel collo della bottiglia, si appoggia sopra la pompetta e si pompa fino a sentire un piccolo click; per aprire il tappo basta storgere un po la puntina e si sente lo sfiato. Acheté pour un cadeau. Après deux ans d'utilisation, la personne est toujours satisfaite du produit. De plus, il y a 2 bouchons, un pour le vin rouge, l'autre pour le vin blanc.

El tapador es buenísimo, una vez que aprendes a usarlo. Cuesta un poco de trabajo la primera vez que lo utilizas para sellar al vacío una botella de vino abierta, pero una vez que le agarras el modo es muy fácil de usar. No cuesta ningún trabajo destapar la botella después de utilizar el sellador. Cumple su función, te permite guardar el vino un par de días después de abierto conservando su sabor. Lo recomiendo 100%.
