Simple, Durable and High quality pedals
Exceptional pedals. Installation was simple, just screw into the cranks of the bike, they fit with no issue. The SPD pedal was very easy to configure the ease of tightness I wanted my shoes to clip in or out. I started off very light and slowely tightened over time for a more comfortable and safe experience (its easier to get used to clipless pedals by having them loose at first). Durability wise these have stood the test of time and experience. I have these pedals on a gravel bike that has seen over 1000km across various terrains and these pedals are still in great condition and have minimal wear.I would purchase these again for any new bikes in the future.

Why did I wait so long, such a good pedal for the price
I recently broke my Brompton folding pedal, and it’s an expensive thing to replace. I had always considered SPDs for my Brompton but thought I’d miss the folding pedal too much. I have now used these daily for the last 2months (13miles per day) and they are brilliant.I have always bought Shimano kit but usually the expensive top end stuff for racing groupsets, but this buget end I am very impressed with. Yes it hasn’t got the high quality material finish that the Deore XT or XTR offer, but for the price and solid feeling the pedal provides I am so very impressed with the engineering. Living with the pedal every day has been a joy, the cleat connecting to the pedal is solid and gives a felling of confidence. I get the shoe in first time nearly every time, so as a London commuter off the lights first on my Brompton every time and back into my flow and spin very quickly. Allows you to focus so much more on your rotations and pace, I should have bought them years ago!As for the width casing issues when folded, well it does sticks out an additional 50mm to the original folding pedal when folded which could cause issues for some folk. Providing I always now consider the outward facing pedal when the bike is folded to be as low down as possible then it’s not an issue. It still fits in between train seats but I have to think a bit more when carrying it around in a folded state.Overall I am really pleased with this as a solution. The shoes I bought with to work with these pedals are the Muddyfox Tour200 (the waterproof ones) of all places Sports Direct in store (sorry Amazon) so I was able to try them on, always get at least 1 to 1.5 additional on size... very snug. Both things work great together, easy to setup and if you have used clipless pedals before they work as expected. For folk who haven’t tried SPDs before it might take a bit of time and practice, but well worth it from the efficiency and safety this will provide in the long run.

3rd set and really pleased. Bombproof pedals.
This is the 3rd set of these PDM-520 pedals that I've bought from Shimano, also from Amazon. You go early can't fault them. They might.not be the most high tech ones, and there certainly are some fancy expensive ones these days, but they just work perfectly, so I can't fault them. This set has gone back on my road bike. They're a decent compact size and are easy to clip in, being double-sided.These screw in easily (one is left thread, the other right thread). Use an Allen Key to tighten them or a spanner to nip them up tight. These are a bargain for £25 at the time of review. I've recently been using a single sided set of pedals, but they've been annoying me if they aren't the right way round to clip in, making me take longer at lights, etc. With these double-sided ones, there's no messing about. I find that the tension is set up fine on arrival, however you can make them tighter or looser to suit. I now have them on all 3 of my bikes. A modern road bike, 80's racer and 2000's mountain bike.Definitely well recommended.

Faultless
Have still got my original ones on my MTB after 15 years and still faultless got spare set which may never use - unbreakable they seem.

Great Pedals - Easy for first timers
Easy to fit, easy to adjust and use. After an hour of riding I wasn't having to think about clipping it, it just happened.I'm using them with the SH56 SPD cleats which are multi release; I'd recommend these for beginners, otherwise the standard cleats are fine too. Don't forget a bit of anti-seize on the threads when you install them!

Cleats included
I bought these as I didn't want to spend loads on something I had never tried, this whole clipless pedalling lark is a new venture for me! The positive reviews helped me decide, plus the decent price. They look good and feel like they are going to last. Fitting was simple.I nearly bought cleats separately but noticed in a review someone said they came with them, so I took the gamble and it paid off. So with cleats and pedals it has worked out a pretty good deal.Trying it all out by just sitting on the bike it seemed that my feet kept coming out and so I did a bit of tightning, only to find when I actual went on my first ride I really couldn't get my feet out (not to worry, no-one was watching I'm sure!) - so I adjusted them back again and once I got the hang of it it became second nature after only about 2 miles down the road.
