Not fit for purpose!!
This is the 2nd machine!! This machine has only been used once, and seems to overheat, and stops working, this is very frustrating when I’m trying to get the job done, I’m currently trying to remove grout from my bathroom tiles.Very disappointed with this product, it seems to be an inherent fault.I’m trying to find out how to contact the seller, this machine is either faulty or not fit for purpose.

2020 Updated review - I do not recommend
The tool itself is great, it’s helped in cutting skirting, cutting out an access panel at the back of a kitchen cupboard. However I do have concerns around reliability. I’m currently on my second unit after the first one just stopped working for no reason at all, no light, no movement, just completely dead. Amazon replaced the unit without fuss as it was within the first month. Hopefully this second unit fairs better, although having read other similar reviews I do have my doubts. I’m a big fan of ryobi tools, but there does appear to be issues with this one sadly.UPDATE June 2020: my replacement tool has since stopped working. Same issue as with the first one, the tool is completely dead. I can count on one hand the number of times it’s been used. I like ryobi tools, but I seriously wouldn’t recommend buying this one.

Compact, versatile and powerful. DIY essential.
Such a versatile tool for the DIYer. I have been wanting one of these for years, ever since I saw a builder use it for many jobs around my house. Chose this one as I have the one+ batteries and after seeing a few videos on it. It came packaged with various blades and sanding attachments. Also includes a adapter for other branded blades which is a bonus. Feels very well constructed and solid in the hands without being too heavy. The trigger allows the speed to be adjusted and it packs a punch on full speed.I used it (along with other tools) to build a pergola with wood and composite decking. Used this many times to cut out sections of the decking which was at least 25mm thick with ease, using plunge cuts. One of the best things about it is that it can be used after I had installed the decking in situ.My only gripe would be having to use an allen key to attach the blades rather than a quicker mechanism like those of competitors. Also I have not come across any heads that can be purchased in the UK (only in the US), this would make the tool even better!

Great tool but be sure to have hearing protection
This is a functional tool. It needs use of the supplied adapter a lot to make use of readily available blades. It is annoyingly loud, so much so that it leads to hesitancy in using it. That said, it's versatility means it is here to stay.

Simply not good enough
Im a very experienced DIY'r and have an array of tools in the garage totalling in the thousands. But i also dont stick to a specific brand. I believe not all brands get all their tools 'right' and there are bad apples in some ranges so i wont be tied to a brand just because i have a battery for a specific marque. This means i have tools from DeWalt, Hitachi, Bosch, WORX, Ryobi and other store brands. Each of their own task and their own strengths. This multiool from Ryobi however seemed good value for money as i have some other Ryobi tools in One Battery, their finishing nailer is a dream machine btw. But this multiool - rubbish. The first one i bought died after 2 uses just cutting a small section out of a 15 mm board of timber. It just stopped dead in its tracks would not do anything. - Bad device i thought. so opted for replacement. Replacement came and I used it about 6 times. Was trimming some grout out around 2 tiles i needed to remove from the bathroom with a tile bit and it died. Same as before. Would not turn on just died.Very poor tool, the value for money goes out the window if ive had 2 die in the space of just 9 months, with extremely little run time.

Excellent multi tool
I already had the Bosch 10.8v multi tool but wanted something with a bit more oomph. This doesn't disappoint, with a li-ion battery (not supplied) it's very powerful and has a variety of uses. Some more detail: it's 29cm tall (without a battery) and the right-angled head is 8.5cm to the tool bracket. It has a locking power switch which is a nice touch, although the lock is easily moved so I'd still remove the battery whilst changing tools. The whole head can be removed and rotated 360 degrees to the body of the tool, in 90 degree increments, making it easier to access restricted areas without the battery pack getting in the way. The adaptor is easy to fit and caters for Bosch or Dremel tools, with a 'B' and 'D' either side respectively to make it easy to know which to use. Tools are secured with a nut using a supplied hex key. It's a shame there's no on-board storage for the hex key as the whole thing doesn't come with a case, although the hex key sticks nicely to the magnetic plate on the battery compartment when storing. For info, the Bosch hex key also fits, but not as well as the supplied Ryobi one. Supplied tools are a 2.9cm rectangular multi-saw (for wood, plastic and metal), an 8.7cm round multi-saw and a 7cm sander attachment with some hook and loop sanding sheets (4x80 grit and 2 x120 grit). The sander attachment is about 2cm smaller than the Bosch version, so there's no cross-usage of those, but otherwise I find the Bosch tools work fine. There are a variety of other saw sizes available.

Poor life span.
This is the 2nd one that has just stopped working for no apparent reason. The last one was just over a year old so out of warranty and this one with not much use is 10 months old.The RYOBI site does not make returns easy?.
