Professional and exceptional value for money
Huion H610 Pro Graphics TabletThis review relates to the Huion H610 Pro graphics tablet. It does not cover the earlier Huion 610 tablet, which has a less sophisticated specification. The tablet was tested substantially, using Adobe Photoshop CS6. It has not been tested with other software. Further, this product was tested using a high-end laptop running Windows 7, with an i5 CPU and 8GB RAM. The tablet was not tested with a Mac computer. With Photoshop CS6, the Huion H610 Pro performed faultlessly.SpecificationThe Huion H610 Pro has a specification as good as any available on the market. In my opinion, having used the 610 Pro continuously for some time now, it is as good – and possibly better – than the equivalent Wacom tablet; which by the way, is four times the price of the 610 Pro.2048 pressure levels and extremely high resolution on the drawing area therefore makes the Huion H610 Pro a perfect device for the professional or advanced amateur. The fact that it has a rechargeable drawing pen is a bonus.Build and facilityThe Huion H610 Pro has programmable physical hot-keys along its left side, as well as programmable soft keys along the top of the active area. These graphical (non-physical) ‘soft keys’ however, are almost useless, simply because you cannot see them without shining a bright light on the tablet. The soft keys should be made much easier to see, as most professional users keep ambient light to a low level to avoid screen colour contamination. To its great credit however, this is about the only fault one can find with Huion H610 Pro.One other possible criticism is the detachable mini-USB cable. Whilst convenient and easily replaced in case of damage, the use of such cables, regardless of the device involved, increases wear on the mini-USB socket which will eventually become loose. It is therefore best to leave the cable attached to the tablet. The standard USB connection to the computer can be attached/detached as normal. The drawing area has a silk finish and feels very much like paper when drawing on it. The plastic casing is robust of high quality and the Huion H610 Pro looks what it is: a professional instrument.Using the Huion H610 ProIf you have not used a tablet before, you have a learning curve ahead of you. Yes, the Huion H610 Pro can be used as a mouse, but that is merely the most basic of its functions. Once the user is familiar with the tablet and when used with professional software, the Huion H610 Pro improves workflow, dramatically increases accuracy and makes the whole process of editing or creating digital images much more pleasurable. In short, once you have become used to the Huion H610 Pro, you will never again want to return to using a mouse for your graphical work. The H610 Pro’s programmable physical hot-keys can help, though this reviewer found using keyboard shortcuts to be far more efficient as they had already been learnt after many years experience. It is a matter of personal taste of course. As stated above, the almost invisible graphical ‘soft keys’ along the top of the active area are next to useless. Such would not be the case however if they were made much clearer to see. Perhaps an improvement for future products? Overall however, the Huion H610 Pro offers a totally professional working experience.Driver installationMany users have complained about the difficulty of installing appropriate drivers for Huion products. In this particular case however, there were no difficulties whatsoever in downloading the appropriate driver from the Huion website, installing or configuring the driver and its associated software. If users encounter driver installation problems, the following may be of help:Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 all have generic graphic tablet drivers. THESE SHOULD NOT BE USED. It is essential to a)remove any previously installed Huion, Wacom or other tablet drivers BEFORE trying to install the drivers/software for the Huion H610 Pro.It should also be noted that as all drivers make changes to the Windows Registry, any installed program should be removed using specialised removal software such as ‘Revo Uninstaller Pro’. Other suitable un-installation software is of course also available. The point is, such programs also remove erroneous registry entries, as well as the drivers themselves; something that is vital if problems are to be avoided. In short, as long as previously installed drivers are correctly removed – especially the registry entries – there should be no problems whatsoever installing the driver for the Huion H610 Pro. The driver also incorporates a configuration program for the Huion H610 Pro. This software is efficient and easy to use.ConclusionThe Huion H610 Pro is professionally built and designed. No product is perfect, regardless of how much or how little it may cost. The only significant fault found with Huion H610 Pro however, is the lack of visibility of the graphical ‘soft keys’. If you are a professional user, this is unlikely to affect you as you will probably, like this reviewer, be using keyboard shortcuts anyway. The lack of visibility is nevertheless something that Huion should address in later versions. In terms of cost, the Huion H610 Pro offers exceptional value for money and is very hard to fault. The only tablet to come close to this quality is the similarly sized Wacom Pro tablet, which is at least four times the cost of the excellent Huion H610 Pro.The Huion H610 Pro is recommended for all users, be they a beginner, an advanced user or a professional. Huion customer service is also excellent and easily accessed by email. The support team were efficient and eager to solve any problems. The Huion H610 Pro is an excellent product with good support, and offers exceptional value for money.* Amazon’s service was, as usual, exemplary and the unit arrived next day, on time via DPD.

Perfect for a digital beginner
It has been so long since I had a graphics tablet that I am beginning all over again. This tablet gives me everything I need to relearn digital art after a ten year break from it. The surface is big and very smooth, the pen is comfortable to hold, the pressure sensitivity is responsive without being annoyingly overdone. I can draw with this until my hands tell me to stop and I'm not wasting paper and paint trying out new ways of doing things. What I like most about digital art is the freedom to create. The default side buttons are set to what I would have chosen for myself and these short cuts allow me to concentrate on the flow of working rather than break off and hunt for double button combinations on the keyboard. The build quality is excellent and the whole thing looks smart and performs really well. I am absolutely delighted with it and recommend it to anyone starting out with digital art.In use it isn't obtrusive at all, just as pencils and brushes become an extension of the hand. I found myself hitting a learning curve to get to that point but it wasn't the fault of the tablet. The tablet is only ever going to be as good as the software you pair it with, so think carefully before condemning the hardware if you're using software that isn't doing the exact job you need. There are many good programmes out there and there are some excellent budget items, from GIMP to Sketchbook Pro to Photoshop Elements that between them should give you the tools that you need. Look online for tutorials and videos of your chosen program in use, the hardware should be secondary to the software.Don't think that you're going to be able to pick this up and draw and paint masterpieces with it when you first try. No machine can replace the ability to actually draw using your chosen tools. I believe that anyone can learn to draw; I recommend The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain as a starting point for anyone trying to teach themselves to draw and paint. Once you have mastered the basics, then you'll be able to really see the shape of what you want to draw and you'll be able to reproduce it whether from life or the imagination.

Excelente.

Serious alternative to the pricey Wacom!
Is it love? Maybe...I've had the Huion H610 Pro Tablet for about a week now, which isn't a long time, but it is long enough to know I haven't had some of the driver issues that others have experienced. I will also update the review when I have had the product longer in order to reveal if there are any new issues, or if the product remains awesome. :-)Backstory: I am an artist, but not a schooled or professional one. Perhaps like many of you, I always drew, doodled and painted as a kid. Maybe I had some talent, but I didn't take it seriously as I couldn't afford art school. I had a small Wacom tablet probably 15 years ago and it was sadly lost in a move not long after acquiring it, along with my free time and star-crossed artistic ambitions.Fast-forward to a couple months ago where I had been increasingly inspired by art - in particular digital art - and wanted to dunk back into the pool. I started checking out different tools and... I cried inside when I looked at the price and specs of Wacom tablets in my price range. I knew I couldn't afford a huge shiny Cintiq like the ones my co-workers at the gaming companies had used but... these Wacom tabs I looked at were SO small and the active areas smaller still. The one that was less than the $90-100 range had appropriately reduced functionality. The base model Wacoms were functional but really made me feel like I would be getting the Ford Fiesta while looking over longingly at the Mustang. Serious equipment envy!Basically, everything in my budget gave little bang for the buck. I looked at some of the cheapie brand drawing tablets and they had poor reviews and/or "meh" specs. They didn't feel like a viable option. Then I saw Huion... with the specs roughly equivalent to a $300 Wacom, but priced at $70-80! The reviews were mostly positive and when comparing negative Wacom reviews to Huion reviews, it was a lot of the same stuff and in fairly equal amounts. At the price point it seemed the Huion H610 Pro Tablet was worth a shot - especially when purchased from Amazon with their notoriously awesome customer service. The Huion H610 Pro Tablet became my holiday wish. It came in the mail - I was allowed to open my present early and here are my thoughts so far, getting the "bad" out of the way first. The bad(ish?):- Installation - ***The installation directions are a bit vague*** about which executable to pick, but after poking through the folders the choice seemed clear and the driver installed fine. When I finally plugged in the tablet, it was clear it was all completely functional - the tablet icon came up in my toolbar, the pen to tab functionality was there. But I was really worried about this as others cite that following the instructions is key to a successful start with this tablet.- The USB port - The mini USB port looks normal, but when you plug in the cord it does have a touch of give that I don't have in any of my other USB ports. ***Basically the cord can wiggle in the port, but seems to keep a connection fine.*** My pre-resolution is to baby the holy heck out of it with deliberate and cautious tablet movement/set-up and care when plugging and unplugging the cord to/from the port. I also warned other people in the household of the potential issue to avoid someone else accidentally breaking the port connection. So far, so good and I will update this review if I have an issue.- The build - Taking into account the USB port and the slightly cheaper-feeling buttons on the tablet - ***this tablet is not quite as well built as the $300 Wacom equivalent***, but... it cost less than a quarter of the purchase price! And aside from my as-of-yet unfounded worry over the sketchy USB port, all seems completely functional.- Pen holder - Wish the cup had a grippy rubber bottom. Super minor gripe that I could resolve if I cared to do so. Also, wish it were the faintest bit more bottom-heavy so it had a tiny bit more of a "I put you HERE!" paperweight feel to it. Again, superficial gripe, as the holder is functional as is.- Touch screen - Nope, this doesn't have it. You cannot touch the screen with your finger to scroll, pan or pinch zoom, etc. It isn't an issue for me, but it may be for you, so I felt I should mention this. If you want to spend a lot more money and/or compromise on the size and other functionalities offered by this tablet you can get one of the Wacoms which does so.The awesome!:- Size - The workspace is huge! You can use broad strokes easily. Although the tablet is surely smaller than your monitor (mine is a lot smaller...) it doesn't hinder your free movement the way I feel a small tablet would. This tablet is big enough that it just feels "right".- Pressure sensitivity - Amazing! You can tinker with the settings on the tablet, and you can often tinker with settings within the art applications themselves. It is very customizable and is really, really cool when you haven't ever played with something so sensitive. This tablet really mimics the way it feels to draw or paint in regular media. Now, it doesn't work in every application (like Paint), but I can personally confirm that it works great with Sketchbook Pro 7 and Manga Studio 5 EX. Even a non-artsy family member leaned over my shoulder and said "wow, that's amazing!" when I showed the difference between basic lines and ones drawn with pressure sensitivity applied.- Pen - It is light and comfortable to hold. It has a soft plastic coating which is slightly grippy and feels really nice. The buttons are helpful and between the buttons on the board and other tricks you can use - I don't think you will miss the lack of eraser, other than if you simply have muscle-memory from using one in the past. With this set up, you can select and/or make adjustments to the eraser using the tablet buttons with your non-dominant hand, while keeping your pen nib hovering *just* where you need it. Having, or not having an eraser on the pen, is clearly a personal preference, but the alternatives offered with this tablet + pen combo are very functional. Also - the charge seems to last a long time - so far I haven't needed to charge it save once after getting it, and rumor has it that the charge lasts for-ev-er.- Tablet surface - Slightly smooth, slightly rough - the surface gives the lovely realistic feeling of drawing on a lightly grained paper. I really like it.---------------Very basic specs of my set-up for your reference:PC, i7 960 3.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 64 bit Win7 Home premium OS, nVidia 660 GTX ti GPU hooked up to a 40" Sharp LED TV. Not super-fancy to some, but it works for me!On this note, I do not experience any lag using the Huion tablet while running any of my art programs even when combined with various other apps going in the background at any given time (i.e. online games, music, movies, browser, etc.). If you are having responsiveness issues there is something wrong with the tablet, pen OR your rig - and you will have to do the typical computer troubleshooting session to discover where the problem lies.BOTTOM LINE: This Huion tablet is a **freaking awesome** alternative to the Wacom dynasty! If... nothing breaks! Crossing my fingers! Yet, even if it lasts a quarter of the lifespan of a typical Wacom, I feel I will have come out ahead of the game as this tablet was an affordable way to get me through the digital art doorway with a ton more functionality and flash than the cost-equivalent Wacoms on the market right now. So far, I am very excited to have found the Huion tablets and I hope you will be, too. Best of luck!Attached Picture: I added a .jpg with a snippet of one of my first rough character sketches to show the strokes made with pressure sensitivity using the Huion H610 Pro Tablet and Manga Studio 5 EX. Hope this helps! :DUPDATE 02/18/2016:Still love the tablet. No issues or notes of concern to add. In fact, I came back to update this review because when I upgraded my rig I happened to get a laptop that doesn't have an optical drive. As of yet this has been a non-issue for me. I watch Blu-rays on my PS4. And most programs can be downloaded nowadays. Manga Studio doesn't seem to offer a free digital download version for physical box owners, but I plan to download to another rig and transfer the data to a large dongle which I can use to download the files to this laptop. And who doesn't love the chance to use the word "dongle" in an everyday sentence?!But when it came to getting the driver for this tablet installed it was WAY EASIER to go to the Huion website and download the 610PRO from OneDrive. Where the physical disc provided with the tablet had a bunch of unnecessary shenanigans on it, the driver is simple as pie to get as a download. There is only one question when it comes to downloading the driver from Huion- Windows or Mac? How easy is that? Thought I would mention this in case the physical disc is still a bit buggered down with extra - unneeded - drivers and files like mine was.Hope this helps! Best of luck! And enjoy your beautiful and affordable drawing tablet! :-)

Great graphics tablet at the price
I bought Huion H610Pro since I was starting to work in photoshop and illustrator. The tablet is great.Pros: Superb build quality, great lightweight pen, the tip is also lasting very well, works well with w7 on photoshop and illustrator CS6, large area to draw and the surface feels good to draw.Cons: The driver on the bundled disc was outdated and will cause problems (IMPORTANT: you should download the drivers from huion website and install it before connecting your tablet to the system for the first time), the pen tip is a bit shakey so clicks and double clicks are a bit tricky, the control over pressure is difficult if the pen is held at an angle. Also if you can spare enough money, buy a tablet with an integrated display, especially with the orientation factor in consideration. If you cannot draw straight lines in all directions freehand (as in my case), this wont do enough for you. You'll need a tablet like Clintiq. But adding the display would make it upwards of Rs.40,000+ for a drawing tablet. So, for the money this might arguably be the best graphics tablet you could get.
