Taylor Of Old Bond Street Best Badger Ivory Shaving Brush - Medium

Bought as a present I am sure he will be over the moon with it.

Got this for my 87yr old dad who had been using his previous one for over 30 years before it gave up. He bought a cheap one in a local store but found it useless. He is very happy with this, very soft, good length, picks up shaving cream well. He is very happy with it.

The actual product looks ok but the package had clearly been opened prior and just taped closed trying to hide the ripped box.I definitely wouldn’t buy again from this seller as it looks like they are just selling seconds or returns.

Have had this TOBS best badger medium brush added to my kit recently.Initially I didn't think much of it, didn't seem to be as good as my artificial bristle cheap wilkinsons brush and I was disappointed.Then after 3 shaves it started to come out of its shell. It started producing good lather, spreads nice over the face, not too soft, not too hard.Didn't realised they'd be this small for a medium. Its smaller than the other wilk brush so beware if you've got big hands! Personally, after my 3rd shave I got used to it and see it doesn't need to be bigger.In all, just needed a little time to get the best out of it. Time will tell how good it really is.For now, Im happy with the purchase!

The headline title on the product description of this shaving brush says it is "Best Badger Ivory". "Ivory", presumably, refers to the handle colour, not the handle material, which appears to be some kind of polymer. Where I really take issue is with the word "best".As I understand it, badger hair shaving brushes are graded in this order - pure, best, super and silvertip, with silvertip being the softest and most expensive. This brush, as far as I can tell from the description on the packaging and on the handle of the brush itself, is NOT "best"; it is actually "pure", the coarsest grade.To be fair, further down on the Amazon website's product description, in smaller print, the hair is described as "pure". But taken as a whole, the description is still unclear and ambiguous, and possibly misleading.I've given the product three stars because it is still a good quality badger hair brush. It's just not "best", and so the seller deserves one star.
