GREAT LITTLE SANDER, DOES THOSE SMALL JOBS REALLY WELL !
Now for a start I'm not that good at this do it yourself stuff. So taking that I have to try and do things I'm not going to have a chance of having too much trouble with, hense saw this little sander on Amazon and Hey! it's a cracking little tool, easy to use, fits in your hand, the sanding discs just grip on, so no extra tools or screws to worry about, and just peel off of what looks like Velcro when job is done. With the choice of discs it makes those jobs like simple sanding down and as in my case taking a little off a door edge to stop it sticking, perfect job with really nice finish. Yesturday sanded down my patio table for new coat of wood preserver, again easy and did the job well and with little effort or real DY skills. A very useful, easy to use with great results oh and its great value. Easy to fit pads on and easy to order new ones as well. Well pleased with this nice and useful tool !

Best thing since the wheel! Should've got one years ago!!
I feel that few things have come along since the wheel that is so revolutionary! A tool that really changes things from what they've always been, rarely comes along in my many years of DIY. I do all my own decorating and recently moved to a house with a lot of damaged and chipped woodwork. The one job I absolutely hate with a passion is sanding woodwork and I was resigned to how awful would be the many hours I would have to devote to preparation. Plus the rough hands and the soreness and general frustrations of hand sanding.Thing of the past! No longer held up by dread of hand sanding. Bye bye drudgery. It takes no time at all to get a good key for the new coat of paint - even on moulded surfaces. What's more, unsurprisingly, you get a better result than ever by hand. I don't even have to apply pressure with my arthritic hands. You must not put any pressure on the Mouse, but let it alone do the work. What a little beauty! It is also light, not very noisy and a pleasure to use. Then there's the design of the sanding sheets, so simple but so ingenious, giving you extra pointy bits for where the sandpaper gets the most worn out quickly. Finally, the price. Amazing! This little sander has all you could want from its design and value for money and, it will improve your DIY lot so much.

Works well but probably not ideal for doing big stuff
I recently used this to sand a shed down which was quite weathered and needed painting. It's done the job (albeit its taken some time) and I'm generally happy with the sander. Things I think are worthy of note:1) There's no dust bag - a lot of other sanders seem to have this. The dust gets sucked up through holes in the pad but is just in this case blown out the back end. I thus found myself coated in a thin layer of dust after the job. I didn't have a suitable vacuum to stick on the end of the dust outlet.2) The tip part of the pad and the separate finger detail attachment will wear. Basically the nylon hooks on the pad get hot and melt a little over time which slightly compromises the ability to hold on to the sand paper on small parts of the pad in this area. The underlying pad in these areas also squashes a bit too. Not massive, but expect to have to replace these at points. For info I found a replacement detail finger thing online for £4 so not massive expense, but perhaps quite a bit in relation to the cost of the sander.Like I say, this is a good little sander, particularly good for getting in to detail areas which larger sheet and orbital sanders couldn't do. If I was doing large jobs without a lot of detail I'd perhaps go for something bigger, but this is a good addition and perfect for small jobs.

A nice little sander from Black & Decker, good for preparing surfaces for painting etc
I bought this as it was reduced in price and I do like to do some DIY from time to time. I've just re-painted my window sills and this tool was excellent for sanding down the old surface. The sanding surface is big enough to sand something like a door quite quickly while being small enough to handle easily (with one hand) and to get into any small corners. The box came with an attachment that goes on the front to allow you to just use the tip of the sander, I found this great for sanding a joint in two pieces of curved coving on the ceiling. There is a part that you can supposedly attach a hoover to but my hoover isn't the right size. Plus I think a hoover hose on the end would make it a lot less portable so I think I'd rather do the sanding, make a mess and then clean up afterwards. The box contained quite a few spare sanding sheets and I've seen that the DIY stores do replacements (non B&D if you want a cheaper option) that will fit this tool. There was also a small black bag to put it in which is good for keeping all the parts together. The mouse is quite light and the lead is a good length (I did have to plug it into an extension lead for some jobs) so you can use it just about everywhere. This is a useful tool from B&D and if you like to do little jobs around the house yourself then it's a good thing to have with your tools

An excellent sander that is a must have and does more than its size belies
I got this Black and Decker sander on Amazon's Black Friday deal day.I have a lot of sanders and always using them to revive and repurpose reclaimed wood. Although I had one of these types of sander as part of a multi-tool I've never used it as it was unwieldy at the end of a drill combo unit. But wow, where has this little beauty been all my life, sad I know but this little sander makes fine sanding and detailing a cinch and the fact that it fits into the palm of your hand makes it easy and comfortable to use.The sanding strip/pads are simple to swap out and the sander comes with enough to keep you going for a while. The fact that it is so small but powerful allows you to follow the contour of the thing you are sanding and allows you to get a great smooth finish. If there is a downside of this tool is that after prolonged use the vibrations from the sander can make your hand tingle so that is your warning sign you've done too much. Of course, that might just be me but I'm sure it will be the same for most people. This is now a firm favourite in my sanding arsenal and what I use to finish off fine jobs and tops that I want to have smooth flawless finishes. If this one ever breaks down I'll be straight online to buy another one on Amazon. It would be extremely helpful to me if you hit the YES button if you liked my review or NO and a comment so I can improve future reviews.

I love my Black and Decker mouse sander
I love my Black and Decker mouse sander! I bought it to help me renovate an old teak bench, which had become very weathered, with all sorts of algae growing on it. I brushed the wood down first and then went to work with the sander. I've nearly finished preparing the bench before I treat the wood and can't believe how well it is working. I don't think I could have tackled this project if I had to do all the sanding by hand. The sanding sheets last really well and it is useful t be able to change the diamond shaped tip without changing the whole sheet. I bought some extra sanding sheets via Amazon but these don't last as long as the ones supplied with the mouse. Still good value for money though!I have also used the sander on a teak garden coffee table and it came up beautifully. My only criticism is that, although the sander is small, I find the grip slightly awkward when trying to get the sander into difficult angles as my hands are not quite large enough to give a firm grip. I would like therefore like there to be another knob on the front which I could hold with the other hand to help manoeuvre the sander when it's not just being used flat. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this product and wonder why I didn't buy one years ago!

This is a fabby little tool!
I bought this to finish off door-frames that I have stripped and am preparing to repaint. It is light weight so I have been able to use it for lengths of time without getting sore arms or hands. It is small so is great for doing the smaller surfaces of the door frame. The pointy end (there is probably a proper technical term for that - sorry!) is perfect for getting into the various edges of the door frame. It is small enough to hold in one hand but also big enough to get both hands on if a little more effort required. So pleased I bought this!UPDATE: So disappointed. On second use this tool has stopped working. It appears as though the motor is not turning when switched on. As it worked so well initially I have asked for a replacement - hoping the problem is just a one off.

Bag total waste of time
Hi - I cannot fault this mouse sander, but beware anyone who is buying this like me for the bag to hold it in. The mouse sander just about fits, but there is no room left for sanding pads and this is what I wanted. I am one of those people who likes to keep everything together so I don't have to search around for it later and I thought bag would be big enough to hold the sander and the sheets it comes with. Sadly no. So you would be better saving your money and buying the mouse on its own and separate generic sanding sheets and a separate drawstring bag.Summary: Sander good, bag don't bother.

but it would be helpful of items were more easily identifiable as international
I ordered this product last fall and although it may work well I do not know because it wired for European electrical system rather than North American - not the fault of the seller, but it would be helpful of items were more easily identifiable as international.
