Quality compact impact driver
Great little impact driver from Makita. All my power tools are mostly Makita LXT, I usually wouldn't buy any other brand. They use the same batteries. They are quality made and have never let me down. You can register them online for a further two years warranty as a bonus. This driver has a good weight and balance and has enough power and torque for most DIY jobs around the home. You can get the brushless version for a bit more cash and its a little bit more powerful but this one is still great value for the asking price. The brushes are easy to change anyway and you won't notice the power difference in day to day use.Recommended

Pretty darned good.
I guess you know that this comes without a battery. And it needs a battery to run. I bought it because I already had a Makita drill and the battery/charger is interchangeable. As for performance, it really is very good. Makita are a pretty well known name and they make good quality stuff and this is no exception. I've used it for a few relatively small projects and at no time was it out of it's depth. It drives screws in pretty quickly. The trigger pressure alters the speed, a nice touch of course. The battery (assuming you get or have one, because without one, it's an ornament), of even the smallest capacity goes for a good time and is quickly recharged (cup of coffee and you're ready to go again). You can get a similar drill from Makita for a few quid more which has a brushless motor, the advantage of which is that it'll last longer. Perhaps something to consider if you use an impact driver a lot. But this one, to add to your DIY tool kit is ideal. Punches above it's weight and I bet will outlast many users. In fact, it isn't too out of it's depth in a professional's tool box I'd say.One other thing. Makita batteries aren't cheap. But they are good. You can get ones made by others and there are varying reports on their effectiveness. At best, they seem to be okay but don't last as long between charges. At worst, as useful as a chocolate fireguard. I'd stick with the genuine ones.

Amazing tool so powerful
I just had to write this review it’s the best thing I’ve bought for years I am currently building a new fence and extending the posts and until now I’ve managed with my trusty makita combi drill but it struggled with big 8mm coach screws not this tool straight in no pilot hole no messing about even if it hits a knot in the Wood still drives them in! I also now can use concrete screws straight in the power this tool has is unbelievable especially when you’ve been used to a combi I love the compactness and it’s so so light I love it made in Belgium too which I was happier with but I can’t recommend it enough and the price is unbeatable and I ordered it 3 o’clock and it was with me by 11 the next day awesome

Best bit of kit
Stud walls, door frames, furniture, sheds, decking, chipboard flooring, plasterboard ceilings, reclaimed pallet projects.. As a handyman I'm using this most days for long periods on all sorts of builds, retrofit and repairs, best power tool I've bought for a long time.More power than you'll ever need, great on battery life, effortlessly drives even the worst old screws into anything, lovely to handle, compact and easy to use. What the hell did we do before impact drivers??Incredible bit of kit for the price. I'm using 3.0ah batteries and got myself some decent pozi2 torsion bits to go with it.Wouldn't be without it now.

Arrived in a padded envelope no box
Product came today was a little surprised it didn't come in a Box but a padded envelope seems OK but could of easily been damaged during transit.Other than that seems OK at the moment.

Completely changed my (driving) life!
I've always worked with a drill driver thinking there wouldn't be much of a benefit in having a dedicated impact driver. How wrong I was, since using this I have saved so much time and effort. It's a much quicker way of driver screws and also has the added benefit of the extra torque. The value is amazing too, as it's Makita and cost me a little over £50. You don't get the battery with this but I already have some of them. Using a 5 ah battery, it lasted me over 3 separate projects, I must have driven over 500 screws on the one charge and it still had power! If you're considering an impact driver I would 100% recommend buying one. If you're already on the Makita platform then this a no brainer. Great product, great value.
