Faber-Castell Polychromos: A True Masterpiece!Wow, just wow! Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils are an absolute dream for any artist. The colors are incredibly vibrant and rich, layering beautifully without any chalkiness. They blend like a dream, allowing for smooth transitions and stunning realism. The break-resistant lead is a huge plus, meaning you can apply firm pressure without worry. From subtle sketches to bold, detailed illustrations, these pencils deliver consistent, high-quality results every single time. They're worth every penny for the sheer joy and professional finish they bring to my artwork. If you're looking to elevate your colored pencil game, look no further. Absolutely essential!

Faber Castell are the best.
These Faber Castell pencils are hard to beat. Iโve tried using other makes but always come back to these. The colour range is extensive and they are a joy to use. After using Faber pencils I donโt want to use any other.

excellent oil base pencils
I had never tried these pencils before but i was well impressed with them. They have a butter like texture but at the same time are not super soft so don't wear down quickly. You don't have to keep sharpening them which obviously will make the pencils last much longer than some other brands i have. You can keep adding layers allday and they blend really well and mix well with water colour pencils and standard colour pencils. These are an oil based pencil which is what gives them the buttery smooth texture i suspect. They have a fab sheen to them. The colours i received in this set are great and i am especially pleased with the amount of different tones of the colours provided in this size set.I think these are really worth the price and found the price i paid was very competitive and gave me a good deal. Hopefully they wont go up in price. The picture was coloured in using these polychromos with some metallic pencils. I really do highly recommend them.

Great set
Used these for the first time last night. Worked very well but found didn't have right colours. Know that it is impossible to provide a set for everyone's taste - and these 24 are indeed well-chosen - but what i would love is a box and then the ability for the purchaser to choose the colours. Not a criticism - just a wish list.

Good art investment
I restarted drawing in April this year and have wanted to use colour for a long time instead of just graphite but been unsure whether that would improve my work, my son bought me a large number of coloured pencils which although had a wide variety of colours didnโt appear to blend easily, then I read about Faber Castel coloured pencils and decided to give them a try. I have to say I was very impressed at the improved quality of my drawings using these pencils as the blending was so good at providing the right shades I needed for a realistic effect, my drawings look so much more alive with colour and my work looked so much better my husband bought me the 120 tin of coloured pencils and I am loving them !!!! Quite expensive if you are on a budget but my personal opinion is that they are worth it if you are serious about your art.

These are indeed good quality colour pencils
These are indeed good quality colour pencils. Their reputation in the art world speaks for itself. Faber Castell for me are the kings of wooden pencils- their 9000 series as well as the Polychromos are of the best quality. I do wish I had gotten the larger set of 36 as it's quite time- consuming (but entirely possible) to blend new colours, and this set of 24 lacks a purple, flesh tones, and some important shades of blue and green. Nevertheless the basic shades are all there, and they are a joy to use- very smooth but tactile enough to give some feedback. The tin that they come in is gorgeous as well, the packaging oozes quality and you do get what you pay for.I just wish their colour selection wasn't designed to make you want to upgrade to the larger set, since they could have quite easily replaced one or two of the colours in the set with more useful ones. You can buy them individually but it's added expense...

Best coloured pencils that I have used ... so far!
Some years ago, I was working on an art project and decided to use Faber-Castell Polychromos Colour Pencils. I bought them as they are generally believed to be among the finest oil-based coloured pencils available on the market. I like the fact that they have dense pigment for vivid colours and excellent colour balance. With a smooth texture, they are great for blending and layering, and can be used with solvents. Unlike some coloured pencils, there was no smudging. These pencils hold a sharper point than most of the other brands that I have used, and I have never experienced breakage.I have found that polychromos pencils work best on smooth textured drawing paper. This is particularly beneficial to people with arthritis in the hands and fingers. From my positive experience in using Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, I can see why they are considered a favourite with artists worldwide!

Great pencils, beautiful colours, worth the money!
The pencils are very nice and work well for many artists. You do have to learn how to properly use them in order to achieve a nice look, but the texture ect of the pencils is very nice. The colours are vibrant and you have a variety of colours to choose from. I use them mostly to do shading ect on watercolour/gouache pieces, yet Iโm looking forward to learn how to create a full piece using only these pencils. Iโve noticed that so far there seems to be a specific way of blending that allows you to create smooth gradients rather than any way you prefer, but that may be because I havenโt tested them to their full potential yet. I would definitely recommend them to anyone whoโs thinking of buying them because theyโre really worth your money. They could also be a really great gift for an artist ect. Most important thing is to have fun with them and experiment.

Fantastic pencils :). Tin case needs improvement.
Packaging: Seller(MSGH)/Amazon needs to improve the packaging for such costly/fragile items. It came with just the Amazon bag without any additional cardboard, etc for support due to which it was bent at few places. Luckily the pencils were not damaged.Pros: (reference : Orange peel drawing)1) Nice colors (24 set good price. @1690/- seller MSGH). Lays down very well on paper.2) Blends nicely with Baby oil (Johnson's)3) Layers very well if paper is good or we can use oils to blend in-between and layer over it repeatedly.4) Works well over watercolour or other pencils like Derwent Coloursoft.5) Set of 24, if mixed as combo of every 2 pencils can produce good range of colours as seen in the attached chart.Cons: (Attached pics for bent tin)1) Tin is very flimsy as noted by lot of others which doesn't help during shipping. But build quality is good since surface is very smooth without sharp edges.2) White color is not very pigmented (compared to Coloursoft) but works for blending or when used with another colour.Note: Though I own the Derwent Coloursofts (favourite) and Artists (less pigmented, difficult to work) , I wanted to try something different before trying out the "Costly in India" Prismacolors eventually and I wasn't disappointed with the Polychromos.Definitely recommended ๐
