Great
Arrived promptly, and great response from the seller when I had questions. My scoby has been happily brewing away and reproducing itself for a few months now. I don't think I have quite perfected the art of brewing yet but almost everything has been drinkable and once you have your starter scoby and a large jar to make it in it is cheap as chips to make kombucha.

This thing is a true Kombucha factory
This thing is a true Kombucha factory. It has arrived promptly and well packaged with good instructions attached. (however I do 2 fermentations rather then just one - with added fruit juices/smooothies for the second fermentation).Having started off with one of these, now -after a month- I am brewing in 3 jars already and I'm planning on expanding it into 5 within next 2 weeks. These SCOBY really like sugar..so if you're generous these colonies will definitely grow on you ;)When it comes to the benefits of Konbucha..I am not a person new to superfoods, so for me it's like to a 'normal' consumer talking about the benefits of having a cereal for breakfast (ie it's obvious that what you put inside of your system will end up manifesting it self into your physical and mental reality...kombucha is not excluded to this as it does add properties to the liquid).I'm a grain/dairy free eggetarian (I do eat eggs-as the only animal product in my diet),mostly consume fruit/veg smoothies and health supplements.Kombucha is something I really like in my diet and can't stop drinking it - fermenting it at home just ads to feeling great about drinking kombucha ;)

Nice thick scoby
Very pleased with my purchase, my scoby was nice and thick. I had too buy him a 2 litre jar as he was too big for my one litre jar. He makes a lovely drink, no complaints.

happy to recommend
I bought this scoby in October 2018 but have waited a while to write a review so that I could comment honestly on the product.First impressions were very good. The scoby was very well packaged and arrived as described, a good-sized creamy white, thick disk suspended in a pouch of liquid. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow.Second impressions were even better. Kept in my airing cupboard my single scoby grew so fast that I had to get more jars and divide the layers up. I now (Jan 2019) have five 2 litre jars on the go each capped with a thick white scoby. Kept warm these things really grow fast and the kombucha produced is lovely, particularly when bottled and carbonated with a little fruit juice. If, like me, you've never grown a scoby before I would recommend you buy from this company.

It would be nicer if the scoby fit the jar.
The scoby which I was sent was rectangular, not round as in the picture. It is healthy and works fine, but does not float in the jar provided by the same company, since that is round. I don't like that it doesn't float, as the top of the liquid is not sealed from the air in the same way, and a less good scoby is forming on the top rather than this one becoming a "mother". This is why I have deducted one star.

Scoby (tea) quick how to.
Came quickly, it came in an air tighten bag with some juice to start you off, it came with instructions and websites, the best thing about this product is that you can store it away and if you've not got all your equipment, you can get them together, (you need a glass 1/12 -2gallon jar, don't use plastic or ceramic as the chemicals will be absorbed into your tea. And no steal top (needs air) use cloth string or elastic band, let it do it stuff for around 16 days taste it, if it's still sweet it's not ready, it needs to taste like cider vinegar, (but you can stop the process at anytime for taste-or to get used to it/ you'll need water (filtered is best, or boiled and let cooled, pour into your glass jar, put Scoby in, put clean cloth/rag, put string or elastic band around the top and put where you won't disturb the Scoby, not too hot nor cold. Also there are more experienced people on YouTube take a look at some videos to make sure, hope this helps.

Healthy and cheap
It is all a matter of taste. For example, I cannot stand any red wine as it tastes like vinegar to me so I should have guessed that I wouldn't like the taste of this. Gutted really as it is really healthy and so much cheaper than probiotic drinks (which is made from collecting bacteria off human poo yuk!). So do give it a try as if you like it then you can get all the health benefits too. Even if you are not keen on the taste you can still brew and then leave it in a bottle for a couple of year to use as vinegar. This arrived promptly and came well packaged so there were no leaks. You do need white sugar for this and water but that is it. Unless you want to get fancy and use different herbal teas just make sure they are cool when you add them to you Komubcha as it is a living thing and will not appreciate being scolded.

Happy with my purchase !!!!!
My scoby arrived sooner than expected. I put it to work that very night. It is much smaller than I thought but yet thick. I didn’t follow the liquid recommendations but followed my mum’s ( the expert) recipe instead (ie used 3litres for my medium size, the results are amazing. Day 8 and a side plate size baby scoby has formed already( please see photos)Just make sure you place it in a conducive or growth promoting environment and you will have a perfect brew. I would recommend this company.
