In the past we have made churros using a traditional method and deep frying. However, this is great for using with a churros maker as it is so quick and simple. Of course, they are not quite like the real deal but they are good enough! The recipe is easy to follow - just add water and mix. It does give guidance on using warm or cold water depending on what type of churros you prefer (but we like all so just use whatever water!). The piping bags seems to have been up-dated so it is now easy to wash and use a again. You only get one in each box. We tend to use half a box at a time which makes 12 churros in our churros maker - each one is about 10"/25cm long. I like them shaken in sugar/cinnamon whereas my children dip theirs in chocolate spread: they taste lovely both ways!

I love churros but I found the mixture remained lumpy and in the churro maker it didn’t work very well the flavour was not quite right but on balance it was value for money. There might be a knack - but I haven’t got it - sorry.

This mix is easy to use. All you need to do is add water. Instructions are on the side of the box in both English and Spanish. Comes with a useful piping bag. All you need is oil to fry them. They puff up bigger whilst cooking so make sure you leave space while frying. The churros tasted lovely and fluffy.

I made these for a tapas evening with 10 family members, the front of the box worried me with ‘reinforced bag’ statement! The bags to prepare the dough for frying were useless! Ended up having to make my own dough bag after I was covered in it. We had sausage shaped churros, good job they tasted nice. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless they own a metal icing set.

Easy to make and cook and tastes really good with a cup of coffee.
