Falconry: The Essential Guide

This book is a fantastic introduction to the sport of Falconry. While it is by no means an exhaustive guidebook, it presents a clear path for those that wish to learn more about the sport. It emphasizes more than once, that falconry is not a sport that you can just pick up and put down, it is for serious hunters and bird lovers only.Beautiful photography and colorful writing bring this short but fun book to life. I had a great time reading it and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to learn more about Falconry.

Still in the process of reading book but so far it seems to be very informative.

Could be more descriptive for an apprentice

What sets this book apart is the professional and memorable style of the writing. The author has very deep knowledge and experience - and just as importantly he is able to communicate it in a very human, effective way. An excellent way to learn the basics of falconry, and highly recommended.

Not a good reference for falconers outside of Europe, specifically the UK.

This book is immensely detailed and essential, even though every tutorial book claims it, this one delivers from beginning to end it is crammed with vital information from housing birds of prey right through to hunting with added bits like hunting sheets and how to apply for certain licenses. If you know anyone passionate about owning a bird of prey they NEED this book, as we did not realise how blind we were of getting into falconry till we read this book.

Lots of useful information, easy read. I'm just getting into the sport and this was a good introduction to give me a reistic overview.

Arrived on time, very good quality ex-library book. All information for beginner, or enthusiast. 1 key point it mentions that to keep a falcon/raptor much time is needed for care, exercise. The book contains plenty of information from choosing a bird, to building an aviary. Perhaps down the road may consider. BR.

This is a great book. I do not intend to take up Falconry, but the clarity of the writing is outstanding.
