Frank Sytner - nicknamed 'Fearless' for his aggressive racing style - was born in Liverpool, on 29 June 1944. A successful BMW dealer outside of the sport, Sytner actually started his BTCC career driving a Rover SD1 Vitesse for Tom Walkinshaw's TWR team. However, it wasn't long before he was behind the wheel of a BMW, initially for Ted Grace Racing. The 1984 season saw him form Sytner Racing, driving a BMW 635. By 1987 he was with the Prodrive team, winning the BTCC title the following year in a BMW M3.
